Bed was a little harder than I liked but that more personal preference. AC would return to 20°C right after lowering it a little.

The hotel itself was beautiful. Staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. Good communication and close to the city center. Breakfast was good and always available at the designated times.

Hotel booked a deposit on my card, which is not in the booking terms The vouchers you get for their bonus points is effectively misselling as I couldn't get what is written in the voucher.

A decent hotel overall. Very quiet a good location. However they don't follow through on booking terms.

Our only gripe is that it would have been nice to have our complementary bottle of water replaced each day.

The room was fabulous, clean, modern and equipped with high quality furnishings. The breakfast in terms of presentation and quality could not have been bettered. As to the location, it was perfect! we could easily walk anywhere, Kiel which is friendly, safe and clean.

Ventilator didn't work so room would steam up. Ended up refusing room cleaning because they would reset shower temp back to middle position, and the knob was VERY sensitive so took a while to adjust. Heated mirror prevented steaming up (which is a nice feature), but only in the middle of the mirror. The mirror is positioned with the middle directly above the bath lip, meaning the feature can't be used easily either from the sink or while stood in the bath. Air con rattled periodically the thermostat was difficult to use. Business room didn't have a main room light (only bedside lights/lamps), it was difficult to get good lighting. Minifridge made a constant high pitched noise and needed switching off to sleep soundly. Very firm beds We were not told of a party in the event hall on the Saturday. I could clearly hear the music from my room on Floor 2 until early hours of the morning. Slim restaurant menu and quite pricey for both food and drink.

Very good location, close to lots of restaurants and shops. Good seated spaces in the foyer for work or chats Wide selection of breakfast items. Good sized room. The fish dishes in the restaurant are very nice!

The heat in my room was on, but was extremely weak. The room felt cold for the entire duration of my trip. A switch to another room did not resolve the issue. I will be staying at another hotel the next time I am in Kiel.

Knocking on door an hour before check out to clean... common problem in hotels that the cleaning staff don't know who's is in or out n when... unless u put the don't disturb sign... plus the cleaning personel were speaking loud in the hallway ... the stay was fine but I didn't really feel like in 4 star hotel

We arrived late at night, had to confront with the guy at the reception to tell him that we have a confirmed reservation for two rooms, had to call Booking‘s hotline and at the end he handed over the keys. This whole process took about one hour to solve, very inconvenient and not professional at all.

The rooms were clean. The bathrooms appeared to be just wipped with water.

Due to the location, it is very loud. Rooms are rather stuffy, A/C works, but as A/Cs go, they are hardly ever nice to have on. Beds could be excellent but the mattress is covered by a protective plastic layer below the bedsheet. (You don’t sleep on plastic, of course, but you feel it.) -> You sweat. A lot. Add the noise, and, sadly, it’s not a good sleeping experience at all.

Very clean and well-kept, comfortable room, excellent location for exploring the city. Great, if somewhat expensive breakfast available.

I think it’s a bit weird for a quality hotel in 2022 to have no Airconditioning available in all rooms. It was around 30° during my stay and it got super hot, especially in the bed (the mattress cover naturally means there is no aircirculation). If you anticipate a trip during the summer I would recommend checking if the room you’re looking at has aircon available.

Both the staff as well as the restaurant were excellent. The fitness area was small but clean, the relaxation area seemed nice.

Room key card sensitive on door opening High speed internet access only offered to those who want to become a member in their loyalty program, (Even though i paid in total 208 Euro for accommodation and breakfast. Remarkable marketing.) Dirty cleaning cloth on the floor,; never seen that before. Room interior "looks tired" No minibar in room, so every time you want a drink or snacks you have to go to the reception. Poor service for a Steigenberger. This is now my second time where I am disappointed with Steigenberger which used to be impeccable for many years, but that is clearly changing.

Very good hotel in the city centrum, close to sea promenade, with friendly staff and royal breakfast. We use to stay here every year on road trip from Slovakia to Norway :-) comfortable and perfectly clean room, cozy hotel bar with good beer and strong coffee next morning - everything one could wish for.

Steigenberger Conti Hansa is the perfect place to spend a night in Kiel. Here you have comfortable rooms, positive and helpful staff, a nice bar/lounge and an excellent breakfast. Parking in the basement costs 21 euros, though.
