Had a wonderful stay at this fantastic boutique hotel in a perfect location in Cologne. The breakfast was particularly delicious and a perfect way to start our day. The staff clearly loves welcoming tourists and gave us pointers and recommendations of things to see, do and eat. Really looking forward to returning!

The hotel was in an excellent central yet very peaceful position, close to the cathedral, museums, river and restaurants. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast was outstanding with many really healthy and homemade options. The room was super clean and comfortable. We hope to return soon!

The staff and service was beyond exceptional-- guests can't skip the breakfast! This hotel was in a great location for walking and super comfortable.

The only slight thing I would add is for the tiny round hole in the bathroom sink to be cleaned. The sink itself was clean, just that tiny hole as your eyes immediately go to it whilst on the toilet.

The location of the hotel was great. It was right in the middle of the city. It took 10mins to walk to the shopping centre, 24mins to walk to the street with more restaurants. We literally walked everywhere and even walked to the chocolate museum which was less than an hour’s walk. The staff at the hotel were great, always welcoming, very knowledgeable and had a smile on their faces at all times. The breakfast options were great. The eggs are cooked to your liking and I loved the freshly baked croissants.

Rarely have I been so impressed by a hotel’s service, cleanliness and comfort. The staff was extremely helpful, starting by providing directions and recommendations for where to go based on the time I had available. When I mistakenly thought the sink had a defect and reported it, the staff came up immediately to try and rectify it. He explained to me how the drainage worked. The breakfast spread was also superb, with a daily homemade dish. For the morning I was there, it was an excellent French toast. The home was compact, clean and comfortable. The lighting and shower systems were also intuitive to use. There was also a nice minibar, though I didn’t use it. All in all, I felt that Stern am Rathaus was the highlight of my stay in Cologne!

Everything was great. The hospitality. The breakfast. The information they provide about the city. Such a great win if you can secure it. Everything is just as advertised so be ready for the small room (I stayed in a single person room) and no lift.

The level of hospitality you get at this B&B is incredible. Not of this world. A rarity. From the moment we entered we were welcomed with warmth, laughter and love. This was NYE weekend. We had the best stay here and really did not expect that. The breakfast is very good, loooots of options. All fresh. It's clean, modern, spacious.

stairs to the apartment but we did know in advance to expect this; with living room set up as a bedroom there was no-where outside of bedrooms to relax - again, we knew in advance that this was the case but worth a mention

Location was perfect; we stayed in the two bedroom apartment with the living room sofa bed made up as third bedroom - perfect for family with two teenagers! Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast had a good selection to choose with chef available to cook eggs as requested which was perfect for us.
