How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The rooms are really small, very similar to a Motel One just for a higher price. Free water is only available for members, we felt like second class guests booking over booking.com, after the front desk explained this to us in front of a long queue. For the price a free water bottle on the room should be standard.
The lobby has a great atmosphere and vibe.

It was perfect!
Great and friendly hotel. All facilities and staff were a big wow and made my stay most valuable and comfortable. Stylish and modern equipment. Breakfast sustainable, local and delicious. I will come back!

We do not eat much breakfast and a price of eur 24/person certainly does not make it more attractive. We had a coffee in the bar which was also very overpriced. Parking also too expensive, eur 22/ 24 hours. But again it's down-town Hamburg.
Finally a really good hotel bed. They tend to be too soft for our liking. This one had perfect firmness. The room had a good size, bathroom also. Great location right between Altstadt and Speicherstadt. I assume the price is reasonable the location and standard considered. All in all very comfortable.

room is very smal, no minibar, not even a bottle of water, or at least glasses. The shower spreads water all over the bathroom floor, the glass shield is too short.
the bed was amazing, felt like actually sleeping in a cloud. Very comfortable lounge.

We are travelling with two english coker spaniels, unfortunately dogs are not allowed in breakfast area, and it was a bit challenging for google maps to find hotel parking

Had to discuss with a waiter whether we had breakfast included or not for our room. Unnecessary to have that conversation twice during breakfast.
Breakfast was simple but good with fresh products of good quality.

The room was so small, I have booked for a couple but the room was like for one person, the price I paid didn't match the four stars hotel. It feels like a premier inn hotel more modern. The bathroom was so small and didn't even had a welcoming drink in the room no coffee machine or tea maker in the room. it feels like a bed and breakfast.
The bed was confortable.

The room was tiny and overpriced. The Front Desk staff, while always polite, was not able to respond to several requests to have the cable tv fixed. We were out of the room most of our stay and did not materially affect us, but the issue was not fixed and no compensation was offered for the inconvenience.
The location is wonderful.

Small room, no fridge, no facilities to make tea or coffee. The cleaners wake you up in the morning as there seems to be no system for them to check if you have checked out. This happened 2 mornings at 8.30 and 9.00 very frustrating! I see lots of reviews say this so had hoped it would have changed but no!

Rooms were very basic. No USBs, No kettle/Coffee Making stuff, no fridge. Very Tight rooms. Also bathroom has very very bad smells of drains
