What a splendid place to spend a night in Cologne. The hotel is a hidden gem in the centre of Cologne with a view of St. Gereon. The staff were very hospitable and friendly. Plus, breakfast was perfect!

We stayed for two nights and during this time the room wasn’t serviced. That was fine but we weren’t advised that we wouldn’t get a change of towels etc. just being told in advance would be fine!

The hotel is beautiful and in a fantastic location by the Belgian quarter. The room itself was fantastic, stylish and large and very comfortable. Ideal for a couple. The staff are very organized and the approach is informal and relaxed.

I was really really really disappointed with the room. I was expecting to be plunged into the world of design and contemporary furniture but my room felt like a dormitory in a youth hostel. And annoyingly you have no idea what the room you are booking looks like on the website which is a real shame !!!! If I had known I was going to get a ‘plain room’ I would have paid more for an upgrade !!! And for an international traveler staying in a bijoux design hotel, to not have anyone speaking any kind of English at breakfast is really not ideal. Maybe pay for your staff to have English lessons ?

Elevator did not function all weekend, needed to walk up to the fifth floor each time with a pregnant woman and my parents who are 60+. No apologies were given, no compensation was offered. It was really hard for the staff to smile every time. Also dirty linnen in the staircases and no climate system inside the room. This really was a dark cloud over our trip.

The building and history is fascinating and really well maintained and restored.

The room was noisy, sufficiently loud that it interrupted my sleep!

Everything was great about this hotel except the room I was in was noisy, in fact the noisiest hotel room I’ve stayed in in years. It must of been a booking.com budget special.

Very small room under the roof next to the elevator and no bottled water. I noticed water on the trolleys of the cleaning staff. So it is available in general but when I mentioned the missing water at the check-out my comment was just ignored. A friendly excuse would have been nice....

no elevator, broken WIFI, hot room, broken airco half the electrical outlets are malfunctioning, no english speaking personell, lied about parking arrangements (scammed me, at least they tried to. go park in park in "parkhaus ring karree" for 10 euro a day) small room, nowhere to put things, only a bed and no furniture. (live off the floor) no hot water in the mornings and evenings. unnanounced but planned maintenance on the descaling installation, so salt water from the tap for hours. outlets in unhandy places. drunk people screaming under your window all night. no vieuw from the tiny window, just the next building. when you do take a cold shower, you flood the room because of the bad design

leaving this horrible place and going back. home.

this is an expensive hotel, and there were a couple of basic issues - wifi not working for the whole weekend, and often no hot water in the showers. Such basic problems meant that overall the hotel was not at all good value for money. we didn't have breakfast there as it was very expensive and there were much better options nearby.

lovely building in great location. staff very helpful.

The first room I was given was more like a prison cell! It had only a tiny window at about head height (if tall) that scarcely opened. It was also on the very top floor despite my request for a room not too high up as I would take the stairs (although there was a lift, this top floor was not even accessible by stairs). Please be aware that the room you book may not look anything like the photos on booking.com, where only the nicest rooms are shown - and there is a huge discrepancy between these and the "normal" rooms. To the hotel's credit, I was allocated to another room the next day (with windows that opened!). The process of changing room was again very strange, as the first room to which I was given a keycard had someone else in it; I stood for some time in the corridor with all my luggage with one receptionist talking on the phone to the other. I had been pleased when booking the room to see the extensive information about the hotel's anti-COVID measures (masks in all public spaces, staff wear masks). None of this actually happened in practice, nor was it possible to eat breakfast in my room (even if I carried it upstairs; that would have been entirely possible, as the advertised buffet breakfast had turned into an individual breakfast). I am aware that the rules in force are changing - but believe this is all the more reason to provide accurate info and update as appropriate. I would have appreciated being offered information at check-in, including a city map. In addition, I was erroneously checked in as not travelling for work - and charged a further additional extra fee as a result. When I queried this at checkout, the receptionist assured me she would send the requisite form. She did not. About a week later, I emailed the hotel about this again, to no avail. I finally received the form today after phoning the hotel again. This has never been an issue in any other hotel - let alone one with these pretentions.

The hotel was in a good location. The rooms were also clean.

the room was small the same applies for the bathroom. the advertised design was there but not abundant. also no seating in room (design) except for a desk with a chair. promised parking, not available upon arrival. had to arrange for our own parking at a 24h garage.

location is good. building is nice. the employees friendly, efficient and friendly.
