A 5 mins walk from railway stn and steam railway and 5 mins walk to town centre. Staff were friendly and always helpful. Nice room with a comfy bed and a good spa area downstairs with a hot sauna and steam room and a fab jacuzzi to relax in after a long days walking 😆

It should be made sure that there are always enough towels in the spa area.

All facilities and all rooms were very clean, tidy and just like new. Very well managed hotel. The breakfast was fantastic, with a huge buffet and even lactose-free products.

The soundproofing of the building is not good. If you are unlucky enough to have noisy guests in the apartment above or on the same floor, it is impossible to get a peaceful night's sleep.

- Rooms are not fully sound proof, you can hear the neighbors if they open their doors, drag suitcases etc (this is only a little bit annoying, and not super distracting) - There was no electric kettle/ tea/coffee in the room. Also there were no toiletries like lotion or conditioner (of course there was liquid soap and shower gel in the bathroom) . Probably I could have asked for those in the reception but I didn't anyways as it was a very short stay.

- Great location: 6-10 mins to the main station or the city center by foot. - Rooms were clean and fresh with spacious closet, tv and mini fridge. - Breakfast was great with a large selection, variety of cheese, freshly made cheese and butter, bread, fruits, warm dishes, Salmon and also vegan/lactose free options. - The staff were hospitable. - The 24 hrs reception made it easy to check in even after midnight. - The hotel provided contact numbers for the local taxi companies when I was stranded in a nearby town. - They also provide guest cards with which busses in the Harz region are free and tourists get discounts at some places.

The bar was very poor. Despite a published menu on line, the only drink on offer was draft pilsener. They also published a list of cocktails but couldn't make any of them as they didn't have any of the ingredients. Worse was the fact that they allowed people to smoke in this bar and I thought the EU had banned smoking in public indoor spaces! I had to sit out in the lobby as the smoke gave me a headache. Were they, therefore, breaking the law? The decor of the bar was also totally unimaginative - plain and functional with no atmosphere whatsoever. The barman also kept slipping out and was not there when you were ready for another drink. A place to avoid.

The location. Breakfast was very good. Evening dinner was excellent: eat as much as you like buffet for €19.50.- very well prepared.

The hotel is a very convenient place to stay when visiting the Harz railway system since it is fairly close to both the station and town centre. Excellent breakfasts and very helpful staff.

This is a huge modern hotel close to the station in a side street. It does conferences and the like. None the worse for that!

Unfortunately it was 38 degrees Celsius outside and no air conditioning inside so the room got really warm.

Everything is good, the size of the room, the bathroom, the bed. Excellent breakfast, an abundance of choice, one of the best I have had in a hotel.

despite the property being big and grand the rooms were basic and had very dull feel and it gets hot there in summers since no ac in rooms

The hotel has no airconditioning, that's why In summer it is very warm in the room, they also don't offer electric fans for guest.luckily we brought our own fan For a 4 star hotel,the room has no water cooker , coffee or tea. Slippers and toiletries you have to ask in the reception.. Bathrobe you need to pay 5€ for laundry.

The spa facilities are very nice, with Jacuzzi,steam room, sauna and a gym, very clean. The reception employees were very friendly and accommodating. Food was good and affordable.

Not really a negative point but one to be aware of: hotel seems to be mainly visited by elderly people in large groups.

I liked: convenient location to visit the town and for trips with the Harzer Schmalspurbahn, extensive breakfast, two restaurants in the same building (one offering a rich buffet and one offering a la carte meals, whereas the latter is not open every day).

Check-out need for one hour in line. need more staff, need games when you are in line.

Nice breakfast. Room is clean. You can have voucher for sightseen in city when you check in. Don't miss it.

Hotel is located in walking distance from Wernigerode train station. Also the local shops, restarants etc. are mostly within a 10 minute distance.
