How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It was busy in the bar when we stayed so service was a bit slow. That said we were there when a concert was on.
Good quiet location near the English Garden, easy walk to main sights. Breakfast are and bar including an outside area all fine. Breakfast was reasonable and a good price.

Hotel overall is in slightly old building - although renovated. No air-conditioning (still for the time of yr that we visited, it was ok). The funniest part was the completely see-through and hear-through washroom door..be ready for some extra bonding if you travel with partner.
Location was excellent - right where the river surfing takes place and the nice sightseeing walk to the city center starts. Rooms where spacious and nicely decorated

A kettle or coffee machine for this level of hotel would be great - it is always frustrating not to be able to have tea or coffee in the room.
Well located for the English Garden and a nice walk into the city. The bar is small but cute. Breakfast was fine but not outstanding.

This hotel is in a great location, very close to the English Gardens and a short walk into the centre and Marienplatz. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the room was modern, clean and comfortable. The area is quiet with no road or pedestrian noise.

In the room there was the possibility to take a cup of coffee. I was really missing the opportunity to take a cup of tea!

The perfect place for a family with children -- be sure you let the hotel know in advance if they need to make up spar beds because it does not get communicated from the website. The staff were outstanding in helping us get settled. The location is easy for accessing the core area of Munich without the noice and mess of other areas. The English garden and the surfing area is right around the corner. Parking in the garage is tight so don't attempt if unsure -- take the elevator/lift down to look at the space before driving in an oversized vehicle.

Room was a bit hot, even in March with relatively mild temperatures. Double bed situation with two single beds side by side was less than ideal - wish the bedframes would have remained a bit more fixed on the floor!
Room was quaint but clean and big enough for two people and luggage. We enjoyed the fact that it was in a quiet neighborhood, nearby the English Garden and the Residenz, and a number of coffee shorts. Regardless, it was easy to walk into the main Old Town area and see the sights there as well. We enjoyed the design of the room in general, including the cool indirect lighting.

The room and bed was quite small. They have policy for cleaning and make up room every other day which is not good for us because we stay 2 nights without room cleaning.

Didn’t have proper bathroom doors. Nobody wants to listen to the other person go to the bathroom.
It was clean and the rooms were quite new. The waterfall shower was nice.

Glass doors in the bathrooms. My relatives found the night receptionist brusque and unhelpful. Breakfast did not seem value for money.
Quiet but a quick walk to major tourist sites. Engaging decor: fun to explore the art in nooks and crannies. Well-thought out storage spaces. Reasonably priced coffee machine at the lobby.
