Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast hot options could be better, but it's really a minor moan as there are a large variety of other options that are good.
I have stayed at the Victoria many times and it always hits the mark. Positioned in the middle of the central square could not be better. The staff are friendly, and the breakfast adequate. The rooms are neat, tidy, and spacious. Parking in the underground carpark is free. Overall a great business-type hotel

United StatesLocated on the town square there will be noise if your room overlooks the square and you sleep with the windows open.
The hotel has large rooms and spacious bathrooms. Overlooking the town square it is minutes from city attractions. They happily cater.to bicycle tourists and have secure storage.

Germany…but—as a couple—the twin beds WERE NOT optimal. Certainly one can live with this set-up but if a couple is planning on staying here and wants some “together time”, ensure at check-in or booking that you receive a double bed. We were completely exhausted from cycling all day so a generally bigger bed would have been nicer just for the comfort aspect.
Hotel is GORGEOUS! Room was HUGE! Bathroom sonnig a small family could practically live in there!!! The location was fantastic and the adjoining restaurant (Yugoslavian type food) was also very nice. Breakfast was full of variety and spacious dining area lent to the corona virus reduction measures in place. All in all—this was one of my favorite hotels on the Weser Radweg Tour…

Breakfast was fine. Standard. Location is excellent - sleep with the windows shut though - the bell' ringing is incessant in the morning! Enjoyed the casual feeling of the hotel and their room cleaning daily - not trying to save money be hiding behind Covid excuses! Parking really useful, staff very professional

GermanyWhere shall I begin. I have come to this hotel for several years, three times within the last 6 months and I was never so disappointed as at this last stay. No soap in the soap dispenser at the hand basin. This occurred also during a previous visit, which I mentioned to the front desk at the time. An extremely dirty drinking glass. A (definitely washed) sheet with a yellow stain which seemed to stem from an accident a dog might have had. I twice went by the front desk to mention these thigs, however, no one was there. The size of the bathroom is such that you have to be a contortionist just to get to the toilet. As much as I understand and will put up with some deficiencies due to the Corona pandemic, there were just too many items, which made the room worth definitely less than EUR 99.
The room was ok with the exception of the bathroom. The room was quiet most of the time. I understand the "green" purpose and have used it whenever I was there.

AustraliaThe reception area is poky and the staff were a little unfriendly and not interested in helping with questions - in fact one woman was actually rude. There is no facility for them to print something which was very inconvenient. There is no air-conditioning or fan in the room and it was unbearably hot for most of the nights we stayed.
The hotel is right on the main square and handy to everything. It is a short taxi ride from the railway station. My room was enormous for a single person, and my daughter and husband's room was small - there was no sense to this. I had a large bathroom with a bath.
