How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The parking entrance is one of the worst I've ever seen, incredibly narrow and steep, and the parking itself is very tight. For the outrageous amount of money charged per night (22 EUR) it could be better organized, and the lack of EV chargers doesn't help as well.
Excellent location across the largest train station in Europe, with an underground parking facility and friendly staff. Spacious room with plenty of space to sleep and a separate room for children to play! The family room has a bunkbed and pool with balls! Best place to keep your kid entertained! Breakfast is very decent, with okay coffee, great made-to-order eggs and a huge variety of other stuff to taste and enjoy.

The decor is very basic -- the room has everything you need, but lacks a stylish touch
Quiet, comfortable room, well-designed and quite spacious. Excellent location, near station but also easy walk to the town centre. Great breakfast.

Location is great. We were allowed to be checked in earlier which allowed us to rest a bit. Breakfast is excellent, a lot of varieties. Staff are helpful and friendly.

I always stop by Vienna House when I come to Leipzig because I really feel like at home. The place is calm, cosy and people are so nice! Breakfast is huge, diverse and really good. Train station is in front of the hotel and it's really convenient.

The bed was a little hard and the pillows were such that one was too low and two were too high. But this is really nitpicking.
Everything was clean. The staff was very nice and I could leave my bag after checking out.

It was my best hotel breakfast, with various vegan options, breakfast yogurts, excellent fruit sauces, and fresh juices. Also, I liked very much that Vienna House is supporting sustainability by offering mini gifts for customers who do not require room cleaning every day.

Our room had the toilet in a separate room from the sink and shower. This might sound ok, but there is not a sink with the toilet - you still have to go into the other bathroom to wash your hands. Both are accessed from doors in the room.
Great location across the street from the train station. Lots of public transportation right out the door. Professional staff. The room was clean and well maintained. Good sized room and very comfortable.

There was no mini fridge in the room, no kettle and no tea coffee. I stayed over new year and everywhere - even hotel’s bar closed so couldn’t find any drinks. Toilet was too small and claustrophobic. Even I put “do not disturb” sign on the first night, housekeeping knocked the door twice and I woke up.

The ball pit in kids room was the best thing we have seen in a hotel room ever! The bunk beds were great and comfortable - the parent in me had a great night!
