Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room and everything was clean, but if a room has not been booked in a while, it should be at least dusted to make it look fresh. My room was very clean, but it was dusty, and some spiderwebs were there and thats how I knew it had not been used in a while.
That it is being modern but also some history kept alive for example Elvis’ room, the elevator and the couch and waiting room are where Elvis relaxed.

BelgiumEverything was just right! We were very happy and wished we could have stayed longer!
The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful -- old worldly and elegant, but not pretentious or uncomfortable. We slept very well there. It's located overlooking a beautiful green park, with cafes and restaurants a stone throw away. The recently renovated spa is just a short walk away and there is an Italian restaurant (Osteria l'angolo d'oro) on the same street which we'd highly recommend. They were so kind as to serve us takeaway after closing (after our timeless evening at the spa).

United KingdomIt was the most expensive hotel that we stayed at for the room and breakfast ,so this will be a one off, Shame really as we would have liked to stay there longer.
We stayed at the hotel because it was the place where Elvis Presley lived when he was in Germany, and the wife is a massive Elves fan. We have been to Bad Nauheim before and really like to the town ,so a chance to stay in this hotel was not to be missed. the young lady on reception was an Elvis fan and understood what we were doing, although i could not book the Elvis room ,she took us up there to see it and take some photos, that made my wife's day , and the lady didn't have to do that. the room we had was very comfortable and clean with period furnishings ,and a great view over the park. with plenty of atmosphere ,with a good location close to the town center, because it hasn't been overly modernized ,a must for any Elvis fan with deep pockets.

CanadaThe staff was very friendly and helpful. The location across from a park was very nice and the extra bonus was a good breakfast and then drinks and small snacks in the afternoon and early evening on their patio. All this in a heritage building. I would recommend the Deluxe Suite.

UkraineOne of the reasons why this place was chosen is a restaurant listed on booking.com. I knew that we were going to arrive late, so for me, it was important to have a place for dinner. It's not a restaurant; it's a bistro, and even the bistro closes early. The receptionist offered us a restaurant nearby, which was closed since it appeared that restaurants nearby don't work on Wednesdays. Please update the information on the site to avoid such confusion in the future.
The place is great, location is awesome. Breakfast is tasty. Coffee is good!

United StatesI liked eveything. no problems.
The hotel was great and the staff pleasant. I was able to park in front of the hotel. There was a charge for parking. The hotel is ideally located right next to the main park - great for talking walks, also there is a small monument to Elvis Presley out in front of the hotel. There are saltworks in the city originally built by the Romans. There is a restored Roman fortress the Saalburg nearby as well as a reconstructed Celtic settlement nearby. Above the city there is a wonderful cafe - the Johannisberg Cafe, and also there are old castles in Friedberg and the Muenzeburg on the old trade route and the nearby Limus line seperating the Roman empire from the barbarians.

AustraliaOnly being able to stay for one night - If I could have stayed for more than one night to enjoy it more that would have been fabulous!
There was nothing I did not like about this place! I stayed in the Elvis room, which was a highlight for me. The room was spacious and, although it was furnished just as it was in the late 1950'S, it was clean and comfortable. The hotel itself was fabulous on the inside and out, and the staff were very professional, friendly and helpful.

Germanynothing really to dislike, maybe a small sign close to the entrance as you have to enter the downstairs cafe which is also the reception.
I simply like the Jugendstil and how nicely the room was decorated. The hotel is opposite a large park and only 5 min away from the Altstadt with many good restaurant options.

United KingdomNo real complaints, I felt that there was no need for us to pay for parking, it was a only a small amount, but given that the Elvis room was more than twice as much as any other room in the hotel, it should have been complimentary, as should have the breakfast for the same reason.
We stayed in the Elvis room, as an Elvis fan, I loved it The location was very good, close to town and all touristy sights. Staff were brilliant, very helpful and very friendly, the lovely young lady did us a good breakfast in the morning and in return we gave her some good touring tips. Should she read this, Bacharach was stunning.
