Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaParking is a bit unclear as procedure. There is paid parking (12 EUR/day) which is always available, free parking in front of the hotel , for 8-9 cars, (this one is used also by local cars) and another free parking area, 100 meters far from reception. If you plan to pay the parking, you'll be very happy about staying .
The hotel is very clean, every detail is considered, check in was a breeze, room (Hamburg) was very well prepared, cleaned up and refreshed daily. The breakfast was one of the best in my life; excellent combination of good service and a large variety of products - from red caviar to fruits salads. There are also some nice facilities such as heated infinity pool, indoor pool both in excellent condition. It worths mentioning the whole personnel; everybody is smiling and is trying to make your staying as pleasant as possible

For German standards, this Hotel far exceeds American standard. It is compared to a $1000/ night 5 star Hotel. Note: I'm German living in the US and traveled the world.

United StatesThis is a beyond top notch boutique hotel located on a quiet street in a (expanded) turn of the century "villa". The staff exceeded our expectations in every encounter with a desire to help make our stay special. I do not recall any hotel or resort we've visited which took service to this level. While not cheap, the value provided exceeded five-star hotels in the U.S. The hotel pool was heated (to around 82 degrees), so we spent more time than expected swimming and laying out on lounge chairs. We ate dinner one night at the hotel and the food and service were superb. The breakfast buffet was the best we've ever had with more variety of gourmet food that one could hope to eat at one sitting. (We tried each morning.) Our room was very quiet even with the door to the balcony open.

United StatesMy wife loved the breakfast buffet. The selection of cheeses, meats, pastries was great. My complaint was I love scrambled eggs for breakfast. They made some for me but they were not that good. However, I was able to make up for it with their other choices. The wifi was an issue for me. I had a work issue come up and had a difficult time staying connected to the internet.
The hotel was beautiful. Our room was extremely comfortable, especially the bed. The location was just a ten minute walk from the city center. The staff was especially friendly to us and went out of their way to make sure our stay was great.

United KingdomOnly small car park, but we could park up the road for free.
Staff were happy and attentive. Breakfast was amazing. Room was clean and a good size with separate seating area. Bed was very comfortable. There wasn’t a kettle, I asked for some hot water so they bought a kettle in. Shower was excellent. We didn’t use the pool, as we were out sightseeing both days. Trier is a 15minute easy walk. Outside terrace with lovely views across Trier and fabulous cakes for tea!

United StatesThis is not at all specific to this hotel, but the smoking allowed on terraces/outdoor dining areas is absolutely heartbreaking. We just wanted to watch the sunset, but we couldn't because of the extreme amount of smoke. I know this is prevalent throughout Germany, but for 2 people with asthma and who are sensitive to smell, it did cause a considerable amount of grief.
After an absolutely disasterous experince in another hotel for one night in Trier we found this hotel and had hopes that it would be stink free and clean. I should explain that my husband and I are extremely sensitive to scents and the previous hotel's "allergy free room" had used the world's most scented laundry detergent. My husband slept in a K95 mask. The Villa Hugel was our lifesaver. We even completely changed our itinerary so we could stay here two nights. The bed was a dream come true with a memory foam topper. The rainfall shower was a "terrifying and divine" experience, so much so that we may get one at our house. The staff were fantastic and showed us around the property and to our room.
