How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I think they could have been more clear about what happens with the deposit. Upon booking, I had 300 euro taken from my account and did not receive it back until checkout. I appreciate they had technical problems on check in but felt like a long time to hold the money without warning! Also, there was a hairdryer mounted to the wall in the bathroom with nowhere to plug it in...
Great location! The room looked new and very clean. The shower was lovely! Felt very safe and relaxed here.

The only curtain in the room was very transparent, so I woke up very early to daylight. It would be better if they replaced it with light-blocking curtains.
The location was the most important to me, because I had a workshop very close by the hotel, just 5 minutes walk.

The lady at the reception was very slow in checking us in. We had to wait for other people to check in first but during that time we could have already filled in the form..
We had a clean and comfortable room for 3 people. The place was also quiet. Shower was very modern.

I didn't like the fact that they wanted me to pay cash since the booking was less than 150 euros. they said they made an exception because I didn't have cash on me. Also, the bed was a little small for 2 people and it is clear that there was renovation work done.
It's very decent for the one night I stayed. It was the cheapest hotel I could find available in Cologne and the location was very good.

They could take care of the false alarm in the middle of the night, when nobody was there to tell the guests what was happening.

Payment with card is not possible under 150 Euro. In the middle of the frozen night, right after arrival I had to run in the unsafe district in unknown city looking for bank machine to take a cash. That has never happen with me before. The electric water boiler worked only if I pressed button during the whole process of boiling. The walls although new had already some spots. The decorative wooden panels are placed under the ceiling behind TV and not on the level of human in order to protect the walls. The pipes under the sink are open, the isolation rubber band on the shower door didn't stick.
The place is new, so the mattress is new, pillows are new, towels are new, smells new.

It looks like they are renovating and whenever we took a shower the whole bathroom would flood. But that will probably be fixed once the renovation is over.
Its very close to the train station, it was a big room with a comfortable bed, the bathroom is huge too. Everything looked new. The check in check out was very practical and quick.

That we didn't stay there longer!!!
Absolutely AMAZING hotel room!!! For the price, it was EXCEPTIONAL!! Definitely 4* LUXURY!! My friend and I were on a little week-long trip around France and Germany with our two dogs. This was, by far, the best room of the trip!! Many thanks to the wonderful evening concierge who made us feel soooo welcome!!

Kettle was not working. I asked for a replacement.... but didn't get any. So the service and the responsiveness is not good. I also thought that the "only cash" thing is not the case anymore when my card was charged when booking. Still they asked for cash and said that at the booking they just blocked the money. Please use other ways to wash/save money. Using cash in the mordern world is not acceptable.
The room in new building was brand new. I liked that it was so clean and comfortable. Everything is modern.

Free parking would be nice, though it did not bother us that much since we can park on the sidestreet for a small fee. Offering complimentary drinking water would also be good, like some of the other properties do.
Location is in the middle of all the major sites in Köln and can be reached by foot, if you dont mind doing a lot of walking. The room itself is very spacious for the 3 of us who stayed there, and it was clean and comfortable. Room heater works properly and there's uninterrupted warm water for bath.

1. The bed faces towards the window and transparent door, which does have curtains. It was very bright in the morning and uncomfortable since everything is visible from outside. 2. Unclear description of cash-only policy for short stays. Since the hotel took money from the card upfront I wasn't expected to pay cash on the place and didn't have the required amount.
