Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaThe checkout process was not efficient. They mistakenly counted me as a guest who entered the Lang Bar, which I never visited. After two weeks, when I returned, I received my deposit, which had been overcharged.

PolandI have been visiting Waldorf Astoria for several years, recently there was a change regarding the SPA (I think the operator changed), which was a big minus for me. It was always open until 10 p.m., now until 8 p.m. This is a big minus for me because I always visited the sauna at 9 p.m. This time I managed to be there at 7 p.m., when entering the sauna I had to go back to the reception because there were no towels in the sauna, they were always on the shelf in front sauna - I assumed it was missing. Leaving the sauna, I had to go back to the reception again, where it turned out that there were no towels in the sauna and I had to go 5 minutes to the reception. Also after leaving the sauna there was no water anywhere. I went to the sauna two days in a row and on the second day I also had to ask for water because no one noticed that there was no water. I have been to this hotel over 10 times and the SPA was a big plus for me, this time it is clear that the changes have not gone in the right direction.

RomaniaThe hotel is visibly outdated and feels oldfashioned (very visible wear signs and old style in room furniture, common spaces furniture, breakfast salon). Compared to new or newly refurbished hotels, it feels like the price and brand standards are not really met at the expected level.
The hotel is in a great location for shopping and restaurants, but not walking distance to the main sightseeing area. The services are Waldorf level, the size of the suite was impressive, good quality amenities, a nice little spa and pool.

GermanyThe breakfast is overpriced. Before 2020 they used to have a-la-carte breakfast and buffet, the breakfast buffet now costs an enormous amount of money for a VERY small buffet, that does not even offer much. I was disappointed because I remembered how exquisite it used to be. You are much better off just taking your money and go to the fancy all-day Breakfast/Brunch places right outside the hotel (Spreegold, Benedict, ...)
Really great hotel, even the smallest room is larger than some people's apartment, the bathroom could be a spa in it's own, the bath tub is large enough to have a couple taking a romantic bath without even touching, the walk-in shower (both present) is somewhere you never want to leave, the spa is quite nice. The terrace with the bar has an amazing view. The location is great. If you get a good rate (switch around the dates a bit, the difference can be couple hundred Euros!) this is actually a better deal than most expensive hotels with super tiny rooms in cities like Barcelona.

United Kingdomwe have just returned (18th Jan). when we checked in we were told about the facilities and the bar was pointed out with the opening hours. We met friends in Berlin and arranged to meet for cocktails in the Lang Bar at 4pm on Tuesday 16th. sadly because of the 10th anniversary event that was happening while we were there the bar remained closed. we tried on 3 different occasions to use the bar but it was closed. on Tuesday eve the event was taking place as we were going out for the evening. we very much felt ‘in the way’. whilst we appreciate the celebration was a special occasion, I do feel we should have been informed that is was happening. the breakfast was in a different location for the first two mornings, again because of the 10th anniversary celebrations, the third morning breakfast was back in the normal location was much better. there was more of a selection of cereals etc (we didn’t see this option on the first two mornings). Overall the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfy and the staff are wonderful. however, we do feel just a little short changed this time. I don’t think we saw the hotel at its best sadly. we felt a little in the way
everything about this hotel is awesome. it is clean, it smells wonderful and the staff and fantastic

ItalyWe felt that the carpet needed changing as it was a little bit old. Also the pool was too cold and paying to enter the spa area seemed somewhat ridiculous.
My husband and I just returned from a three night stay and we were totally happy with everything. The rooms were well designed and comfortable, the breakfast was great but more than anything we found the staff to be totally professional, helpful and always smiling. The hotel is in a great location.

PolandI was there two years ago. I have noticed then, that in spite of being 100 km from Poland, the hotel doesn’t offer any Polish TV Programme. The management answered, that they were in progress of changing tv system, and soon they would offer some Polish broadcasters. After two years WA still doesn’t offer any Polish TV, although in the same time there were at least five groups of guests from Poland. And as far as I know, the hotel is visited quite often by the Poles. Carpets on corridors – still worn, as they were two years ago. It happened that Nespresso capsules and tea weren’t replenished on daily basis, I had to contact reception. The light in the wardrobe didn’t go off automatically, as it should. The only repair done by the service was to remove a cable. A woman in reception couldn’t tell me anything about the loyalty programme – have they any? What should I do?
Perfect location, good breakfast (although choice could be better). Clean.

NetherlandsStaff were far less friendly and eager to help and offer suggestions as they were at other waldorf properties (maybe they are fitting into the Berlin mentality?). No turndown service at a five star hotel? Calling to order room service always required at least 3-5 minute wait. Not their fault but because of Covid the library (top floor) was closed during the week, complete bummer.
Views were beautiful in the junior suite on 13th floor. The location is very central (across from bikini and zoo, walking distance to KaDeWe and kudamm. Finishes in room as top quality what you would expect from waldorf, 4 seasons, or Ritz.

DenmarkWe ate the the breakfast restaurant. From what I read on the QR code, I thought we could order Eggs Benedict a la cart. The Waldorf is famous for that dish and I was excited to try it as it's literally my favourite breakfast. We received a half portion and the muffin was soggy. It was disappointing. Then we found out that once in the restaurant there you are charged for the buffet. We don't really appreciate buffets, but then they charged us two times for breakfast on the same day. The helpful staff in the lobby cleared that up fast when we checked out. The spa: Because of Covid you need to book a time slot at the pool. We we arrived there were not any available lounge chairs and no where to put our robes. That was crummy and it felt stressful. The other guests were overstaying their time slot and there was no one to keep track of how many guests we occupying the pool area. Also, the sauna and steam room are areas where no textiles (bathing suits) are allowed, which is fine, but there was a guest by the pool with no clothes or swimsuit on. I wish there was a warning that that was normal by the pool as were a family visiting the pool.
Our rooms: We were on the 13th floor and had the most marvellous view overlooking Berlin. We could watch the giraffes in the zoo and see all the way Alexander Platz. We had two adjoining rooms for our family. The rooms were spacious with high ceilings. I'd like to know the brand name of the windows because the locked out all sound from outside which made our stay very relaxing. The location: The location is perfect for hopping on the metro, the entrance for the metro is just steps away from the hotel. Extras: We visited The Roof Top Terrace Bar everyday. The wait staff was friendly and made us feel like their own family. Besides mixed drinks they also had homemade lemonade. Simply refreshing! We also relaxed in the spa. We used the pool and the hot tub.
