Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe bed mattress was not so confortable.
Breakfast, location, style (modern and simple). Love the library and the view to the garden. Staff was extremely helpful and kind.

Czech RepublicWe really enjoyed friendly staff. Selection of meals and drinks at breakfast was very wide. We also liked style of the hotel, which feels very cosy, small, home-like. And the last but not least quality of the hotel is its location, which is very central both to town and the lake, but hotel itself is very calm.

The whole hotel was beautifully designed by the best of modern architecture standards. Even the colour schemes were good. A bonus was the garden with discreet seating areas and of course the library room.

the service is more than excellent. The place is cozy and beautiful. One can have breakfast in the garden and is a paradise. I will become an habitual host for sure

GermanyThe fact that the room was in a separate building from where breakfast and Orginal advertised location hotel was. Very noice front door and couldn’t enjoy sleeping late on the morning as visitors would bang the door closed
We know it snowed, and gravel gets in the soles, but once I entered the room, I took off my shoes to not get dirt and gravel into the room. However the floor wasn’t cleaned from previous visitors, gravel was all over and you felt it on your bare feet. Wasn’t impressed

BrazilFar from what we expected: 1) No A/C (this is displayed on their details - my bad I didn’t realize it before). it can get quite hot in Hamburg and we were in a room on the last floor that was more like a greenhouse; 2) Window shades are actually wooden shades - so you either have some privacy or get some fresh air/breeze in to soften the warmth of a sunny day heating up your room. Street seems quiet but you can hear everything from any car passing by; 3) my parents were allocated in a room on a separate building (across the street), with no elevator (and also no A/C by the way). This could’ve been shared upfront so we could figure out if we would still want to stay knowing that we would have to take all the suitcases three looong stories up; 4) shower with no pressure at all - and the whole bathroom gets wet; 5) finally - we decided to try their breakfast : for 19.50 EUR, you have an average to bland breakfast buffet - not worthy at all.
good location, rooms felt very clean

IrelandWifi in our room was really terrible, you could not rely on that for more than a minute. As I needed it for work I asked for support the very first day but I had the standard answer "we will report it to the technician". Now I see old reviews where other travellers had the same issue, it probably means that the techician hasn't arrived yet... The breakfast was good but not excellent considering the expectations and the price.
Nice structure even if rooms are located in different buildings in the same street, beautiful hall with library. Functional room on two floors. The location is close to the train station and convenient if you want to stay in an area full of restaurants. The downside of it is that is that the surroundings are not properly elegant, but it was not an issue.

CanadaThe room was cramped, uncomfortable and on the third floor with no elevator. This was unexpected and difficult for us as seniors. We felt like we were being given the smallest, most uncomfortable and inconvenient room in the hotel! We had to be very careful not to bash our heads on the sloped ceiling.
The public spaces are lovely, particularly the garden area. The staff was friendly.

LuxembourgThe rooms were shabby, not in a state of a 230 Euro room. We booked 2 Urban S rooms, that are located in a different building on the other side of the street. ( 2nd and 3rd floor, no elevator) . both rooms are in desperate need of repainting. only one plug near one bed side. no air conditioning and only a noisy fan in one of room. The rooms look nothing like on the booking site. After making reception aware of this they gave us 20% off the bill but even then this is hugely overpriced for what you get.

Norwayit’s a bit of a strange place- dirty hallway to get to the apartments upstairs. it’s advertised with kitchen but all of the kitchen doors are locked so we didn’t have utensils or kitchen items. I thought it so strange that they locked the cabinet doors. in my opinion, overpriced for what you get. Also no pull out sofa for third guest- they just put a sheet on the couch.
The location was good- fairly close to the train station and restaurants.

BelgiumThe room itself - we got an upgrade apparently to a slightly bigger room - was really not cozy at all - a cold and barren atmosphere. It’s located in another (blue) building, a bit further down the street from the main building, which is not a problem, but the room didn’t look like any of the rooms in the photographs. It had bare light blue walls. I would have preferred a smaller, but more cozy room to relax after a day in Hamburg.
The main building, where the check-in counter, breakfast room, and cozy garden is located, is lovely; there’s a really nice atmosphere. Breakfast itself was quite extensive. We could opt for coffee from the coffee machine, instead of filter, so the coffee was good. Sturdy materials are used everywhere, the art hallway in our (separate) hotel room building was a nice surprise!
