Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast, no coffee in pots, no plates to put hot food/meat on. Starters arrived after the mains for evening meal and staff seemed surprised when we said we didn't want them after the main course. However staff were all very friendly, just felt they needed more support and traiining.
grounds were lovely, places to sit not just at restaurant tables, proximity to cycle path and hiking paths. Room very quiet even though opposite the water wheel. loads of easy parking, could lock bikes away.

United KingdomNothing I didn't like. Apart from price it was a great stay and a welcomed one at that.
Excellent location, hotel is being renovated and continues to be a hotel I enjoy staying at - great food and wine on offer - it's always a great stay. I dont know if it's general that hotel prices are going up in Europe hence my score for value for money - but a little bit pricey - once renovated then the price would be palatable. The hotel had live music on one of the nights staying - which was enjoyable and a lot of locals turned up for the evening which was great.

AustriaThe communal terrace outside of the bedroom could do with some tender loving care to repair the area currently taped off. Staff managed to add a large number of other orders to our evening meal bill making it 3 times more than it should have been andwhich only came to light at Check out causing a 30 minute delay to the start of our journey while we waited for someone to resolve it.
we have stayed here before albeit the last time was 15 years ago and it holds special memories for us, hence the return visit. The location is lovely, set near vineyards. A nice comfortable room on the ground floor opening up on to a communal terrace. Very nice evening meal and an excellent breakfast.

Germanythere is nothing I did not feel good.
this is a Weingut and they also have hotels and restaurants. unfortunately in the Christmas eve there was no food supply. but I would like to eat for the next time and enjoy the wine. the room is big enough for 2 persons and the equipment are good. the bathroom is also very clean and comfortable. the location is ok for driving. it is just next to Trier and easy to travel to other cities or abroad. the breakfast is super and it was fully booked that night during holiday. Al last the staff are quite nice and ready to help.

United KingdomOn arrival after driving from UK , waited at reception for 15 mins after ringing bell twice-no one came, although chef was looking through the window .I knocked on window for acknowledgement .. to be be greeted by a display of aggressive/ negative behaviour.. me and my elderly mother were quite upset and shocked by his behaviour. when receptionist eventually arrived, she brushed his attitude off ,this tainted our 5 day stay , we would not be returning or recommend .

United StatesWe really did not have any dislikes during our stay.
We had stayed earlier at KarlsMuehle Hotel and Wein, and enjoyed our stay this time as well. The staff is very friendly, the food good and large plates, and their wines - mainly Riesling are excellent and very competitively priced. Good place for walking in the Vineyards, and only 10-15 min to center of Trier (Germany's oldest and most Roman city). Easy access to other good wine locations not only Kasel on the river Ruwer, but also Bernkastle-Keus and the Saar river region, where we love the Bockstein wines.

United KingdomThe room was very cold, even when I turned up the radiators. It did not warm up until the morning. I ate an evening meal at the hotel restaurant. The choice was only fair, and my pizza (flammkuchen) was also only fair. I ordered a dessert but it never arrived - I was not charged. Since coffee was provided in a number of flasks, other guests appropriated these and so access was difficult.
The staff were mainly friendly and helpful - some spoke English. The room was a reasonable size; it had a good view to the courtyard/garden. A 'night door' near the room gave useful access to the parking area. There was a good bathroom and good shower. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was mostly good - but access to coffee was difficult due to other guests.

United KingdomA perfect location to explore Trier and the surrounding areas, with ample parking. An excellent evening menu to eat alfresco when the weather allows under the shade of trees and vines. Ample breakfast choices. The room was clean and tidy with a nice bathroom and shower. The staff were lovely. You can even buy wine from the winery! We would definitely stay there again.
