Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis town is quite busy during the day but very quiet at night, which was lovely but also means dinner options are very limited. We ate at the restaurant next door to the hotel both nights and the food was great, but we almost didn't get served the second night because they had so few staff. We tried an Italian place a few blocks away but they required reservations. I'm not sure where else we could have gone if we didn't get seated at the place next door. Just something to be aware of.
The staff were excellent; always friendly and helpful. The location is great, right in the center of the old town area. We got a room on the third floor and the views were fantastic. No balcony on that floor but three huge picture windows that we could open to listen to the church bells and see the mountains clearly. The room did not have air conditioning but we just left the windows cracked open and night which worked perfectly. The breakfast was standard buffet style. Nothing special but well organized with comfortable seating and a friendly staff as usual- on our last day we had to leave early and they helped us put together a to-go bag. We didn't know what to expect for parking; turns out they give you a parking pass to leave your car in any of the 30 minute or 2 hour parking spots in town. Our first night we parked just 15 seconds from the lobby. The second night was a bit further but still only a 2 minute walk. Overall we were very happy in this hotel.

Very good position downtown O'gau, old building kept in good condition. Breakfast very good and the waitress was very nice and helpful. Close to every interesting attraction and close to a very good gelato place.

United StatesIt sounds strange, but there is no way to control the bathroom lights. They are motion sensing all on or off. That’s tough in the middle of the night.

Excellent choice in an excellent location! I was upgraded to a charming corner room with a fantastic view of the heart of the town. Very clean and comfortable. High quality breakfast. Fascinating art from the passionsspiels of past years. There's a panel from the (Im)material exhibit on the second floor! Easy walk to bus stop, cafes, and the museum.

IrelandNot a dislike, but the hotel restaurant was closed during our stay, but staff recommended a number of nearby alternatives.
Main receptionist was super helpful, offered some good advice about local activities for my teenage son and I. The hotel is central, in close proximity to really nice restaurants. Room was spacious and comfortable, good heavy curtains so early morning light wasn't a problem. Area is lovely and quiet with amazing views of the valley.

LatviaWhat a lovely hotel. The overall design of the building and rooms is very historical-like. So you almost get the feeling of having stepped into a German fairytale. But the bathroom is very modern and large. The room we had, had large windows that offered a beautiful view of the mountains (even in spite of scaffolding). A major bonus is parking. At the check-in you are provided by a free parking pass that allows you to park your car anywhere around the hotel (even if street signs say 2h max). And there is a large parking area 1min walk from the hotel. The breakfast is large and varied offering both warm and cold options, with fresh veggies. Don't forget to leave room for dessert. Location is central, so you get to see the whole magic of the village very easily. And an added bonus is a very nice and helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The hotel is located in the middle of town. While no dedicated parking spots, we got a parking permit from the hotel and found parking space very close to the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very large with a balcony and freshly renovated. The breakfast buffet was great.
