A little tired but Michael more than made up for it

Michael was very hospitable and a joy to talk with. This place to stay was right at the heart of the little town. One step outside you were by the water and all the small shops and restaurants. The service was great as was the food.

The owner is super friendly and was accommodating to anything I might need. The room itself was very spacious and the view out of it was beautiful as well.

The breakfast was very expensive and not up to scratch with other hotels/guesthouses where the cost were less.

Some of the decor was a bit tired. The evening meal was very disappointing. Greasy schnitzel and frozen chips, with a few salad leaves. Breakfast was adequate but very pricy for what you got. We asked for a second cup of coffee and were charged extra for it

The location was wonderful and we had a super view across the river. The host was very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and had a powerful shower.

in a beautiful location overlooking a brook running directly passed the hotel. also, a chance to have a drink at the hotel’s outside garden beside the running water. we were well cared for with good food at dinner and breakfast.

It was run down, shabby and not very clean, visible mould in the bathroom and threadbare towels.

Nothing really other then the location. Schiltach the town is a gem.

There is no lift so beware if you are on the second floor.

Michael made us very welcome - he is very attentive host ensuring that everything for our stay was provided. All the facilities were good especially our room which overlooked the river. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent and good value for money.

We picked this accommodation for a two night stay because of its central location within the Black Forest. We had a second floor room overlooking the river which was clean and comfortable. Parking was free and right outside the building. The owner Michael prepared us authentic delightful Black Forest evening meals which we ate on the terrace over the river washed down with local German beer. Michael was an amazing host, nothing was too much trouble. After two days it was like we had been friends for years. We would like to stay again in future when visiting the Black Forest again.

Michael is a wonderful host, and really went out of his way to be helpful accommodating and welcoming. The guesthouse is very homely, superb location all round comfortable and enjoyable stay. We will come back!

We went on winter with negative degrees outside and when we arrived the room was very cold. It is a very old house, not seems a hotel at all. Room furniture very old and damage, mattress were really bad and uncomfortable and the bathroom is tiny. The house doesn't have elevator and our room was located at third floor.

Location is very good. And staff was nice.

Nice room in a beautiful old building. My room was on the top floor with a splendid view over Schiltach. Excellent eating in the cozy restaurant in the evening, and also breakfast was very good. Very nice to talk with the friendly owner Michael. I definitely hope that I will come back!

Authentic and cozy guesthouse in an amazing place. Michael is an excellent host and he's very helpful with any request you may have. We recomment this place for anyone willing to spend a few days in the black forest!
