Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We slept in the freezing cold in a garden-shed next to a high way with no water or proper heating and dirty toilet in another building. This is not a hotel but rooms for foreign workers.

LithuaniaThere was nobody in the "reception" for the two days of our stay. We found out which room was ours by making a phone call, and it was in the basement without a window!!! The room was damp with even damp sheets and not the best smell. There was very little room to even turn around and the wardrobe that was there made no sense - inconvenient to use it. There were four more rooms on the ground floor, in a better condition, and two of them even empty during our stay - but again, there was nobody to let us change the room. The kitchen in the basement was not clean and unpleasant to use. The fridge seemed to have not been cleaned for ages with different types of food left by other guests. Simply disgusting. The two toilets and the showers not clean enough. It also looked like anybody can enter the place and use the kitchen or simply live there, because the reception is just there to make a visual impression for guests. There were also some workers living and drinking in the evenings and making noise. Overall, you can hear all the sounds coming from everywhere. I have never written such a negative review before, but when there is a mess and basic requirements for a stay are not met, it is a duty to inform. Clean, look after the place, and never put people live in a basement - it is a shame to make money in such a way.
