It was slightly difficult to find out where to go, since I arrived on motorbike and the entrance lies just off a busy road but cannot be accessed directly. Instead, one has to drive around the hotel, into a parking garage, and then inside the parking garage keep going until one reaches a small door marked with the name of the hotel. On this topic: while motorcycles park for free, cars are not so lucky and will have to pay a small fee to park in the parking garage. Moving between floors is an elevator, but prepare for some considerable walking as the corridors are long and featureless.

I arrived late after taking the ferry from Norway, but luckily the staff at the reception seemed understanding and very helpful. This trend persisted, with all the staff I encountered being extremely friendly and helpful, and they appear to genuinely enjoy working at the hotel. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Aalborg, next to the waterside. Breakfast I enjoyed overlooking a festival of sorts happening outside, and was really quite good. The rooms appear to have been designed to take up the least amount of space, while still being sufficiently spacious to walk around in and utilize. There was a decently sized desk, plenty of storage, and even a tea kettle. Everything reminded me of student dormitories, up to the bunk beds. I had plenty of room to do some light work, and barely but just enough room to shower. It is in no way luxurious, but does have everything you need to sleep. If you are a fan of minimalistic design, you will enjoy Cabinn Aalborg. If you are arriving with a late ferry and need somewhere to go, this may very well be your best option. I for one had a great nights' sleep, before traveling onwards the next day.

The room space is overly optimized. The room is too small with its correspondingly small size of bed and bathroom facilities. The hotel does not provide enough soap for guests. I could not get power to my TV throughout. I did not call for assistance though,. So, i do not blame the hotel for this.

The breakfast was okay The room was warm. Staffs reception was superb. The geography centrality of the location provides convenient proximity to various places of interest including transport stations.

I found candy wrappers on the floor in the room, which means that the room was not cleaned. Because the bathroom is very small, if you take a shower, you wash on top of the toilet.

It was very noisy at night. You could hear people talking, snoring and turning over in their beds. I found the room too hot and the air conditioning did not switch on when I turned the dial. There wasn't enough tea and coffee in the room for the full length of stay. There was a faulty fire alarm that resulted in us all being outside in our pjs in the rain at 2am. The staff told us it was safe to return but that they couldn't confirm it wouldn't go off again and that hopefully they could get it fixed tomorrow. Many of the guests were very angry. Although the bed was very comfy I was disappointed that a second pillow wasn't provided so that people who like to sleep with two had that option.

I found the staff very friendly and although the room was tiny, it had everything I needed. The location was great. It's right next to the Utzon museum. I found the solo bed a good size and comfortable. The WiFi was really good. The lifts were reliable and fast. The building seemed secure as you could only get to the rooms if you had a keycard. There were lots of lights around the room so you could light up different bits of the room.
