Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandOur room was next to the common living room… so as some people are not respectful, it was too noisy in the evening and in the morning
Absolutely stunning building, garden, huge living room with piano, the place is beautiful. The common kitchen and area were clean, as well as the room. For once in Danemark, we even had sheets and towels !

PolandCompulsory registering parked car, especially after number of hour spent driving feels unnecessary, especially when parking seems to be belonging to Hostel. Although it is not huge drawback.
Breakfast was fine, room was fine. Having your own bathroom is nice in a hostel. Everything was OK, nothing exceptional.

GermanyThe hotel room is very on kept and dirty with mosquitoes 🦟 couldn't allow us to sleep at night, there where so many kids and wondering if this is a hotel, the kids couldn't allow us to rest as there where making lots of noise, running, and stamping their feets on the floor, you have to vacuum clean yourself the beds where fill with sands n the floor, it was horrible staying with mosquitoes 😬

United KingdomWe arrived in the check in time frame but no one there. We were emailed a code in advance. Would have been nice to have someone on reception for info re the area. We had to put our own bed linen on and strip it. The top bunk bed the sides were very low so i was worried my child would fall out and break her neck in the night so we had to take the mattress out and put it on the floor.
Nice looking building. Kitchen to fill up water. Parking

DenmarkMultiple classes of young people stayed there at the same time and they we’re ridiculously noisy throughout the evening and night. You have to make your own bed and clean the sheets - never experienced this in hostels before. The light in the shared bathroom turns of within 1 minute and everything goes dark. Not very ideal.
It was close to the reason for my travel. The breakfast was amazing!

United StatesIt would be nice to have a bit of smooth surface. from sidewalk or drive to front door for rolling baggage.
It was so lovely, tasteful flowers everywhere, friendly reception, very nice breakfast available. Easy to go north or south by bus or walking. It is walkable from the station, but best to catch bus, no. 12 or others, ask driver for 'Swimming Stadion Denmark'stop, and look for big waterslide.

FranceI am crossing Denmark by bike and I am trying to find reasonably priced accommodation in this overall very expensive country. I have stayed in several youth hostels and always had a good experience. This youth hostel was a bit different. It has been nicely renovated and looked more like an high end hotel. But you need to read the fine print to find out that the linen was not included in the price. Who travels around with his/her own linen? It would be better to include this in the price. Also, different from other youth hostels, breakfast was not included - another 100 DKR. In the end, this youth hostel was almost as expensive as a regular hotel. So be aware: the place is very nice, but you pay for it.

United StatesThere is small charge for linens (or you can bring your own). This was not completely clear on the booking.com website but the host was very accommodating when we arrived.
Great stay! Excellent proximity to the Esbjerg Idrætspark and the Svømmestadion - walking distance 5 minutes. Alos, not far from the downtown with many shops and restaurants along the way.
