Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceNo complaints. One may be surprised by the hotel comprising one or more annexes, but our's was right across the street from the main building. There is parking, but the number of spaces is limited (so arrive early).
A very nice hotel with pleasant staff right on the main street. The room seemed newly renovated and the was breakfast was very good. The WiFi worked without issue. Walking distance to restaurants, cafés and museums. The walk, a couple of kilometres, to 'Grenen' is most pleasant. Would gladly return.

AustriaThe room was pretty dirty when we got there, there was even sand in the bed. Plus, one of the lamps was broken. There also weren’t many power sockets in the room.
The man at the reception was extremely friendly and helpful, very nice first impression. He also helped us rent bikes. Furthermore, the breakfast was excellent. There is also enough parking, which is free.

GermanyThis hotel is at the intersection of a major road and the high street, so it is very central :) and quite loud :( During “Beach Week” (week 29) it is unbearable.

NetherlandsWe could bring the dog, but she wasn't allowed in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. That wasn't told by the guy of the reception, so we were told to leave the restaurant. It was said by the waitress that dogs aren't allowed in restaurants throughout Denmark but we experienced else during the rest of our holiday. They offered us a plate to take breakfast to the room. While it was located in a side building it felt more as a motel than a hotel....
The best part is the location in central Skagen and near Grenen. Our room (located in a side building, we didn't knew that) was clean but quite small and contained a bed, 2 chairs, a table and a bathroom. It was okay for 1 night but if you want to stay longer, i would choose a more comfortable room (if possible)

United StatesThe fact they have music in the main building and so late should be noted when you make a reservation. I was lucky it was low season and other rooms were available.
Great location right by the train station and close to all. Check in with Kim was great. He was full of ideas and knowledge, very helpful. He volunteered that there was to be music for my two night stay from 10.30pm -2 am. He was accommodating in finding me a room far from the music- he put me in an annex the hotel owns. It was absolutely quiet, comfortable, and even a small fridge. The bikes they had were well maintained and comfortable. Breakfast was abundant and nicely presented.

FinlandThere was music in the bar just below my room. However, I went to sleep before 10 p.m. with the earplugs on, so I'm not sure if it has already ceased until 10 pm.
Nice place. Excellent location. Friendly staff, and the place was clean. At least during the winter season, there was lots of parking space and accessible entrance to the room, even with some luggage.

DenmarkRoom no. one plus many other rooms were direct over a bar with live music and a lot of extremely noicy people. The loud music and extremely noice started at 21:00 hrs and ended at 02:30, which made it difficult to sleep both nights. We will never use the hotel again.
Everything was generally fine at except for one exception.

IndiaLights available in the room were insufficient for the size. Moreover the dark carpet don’t help much The heater knobs were visibly clean. While entering there was a particular smell, which personally didn’t go well with me Overall, the room was too dark even with the use of lights and didn’t have positive vibes during the stay.
