Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe warm water could only run for about +-5 minutes when taking a shower
The hotel and rooms are good. However te host together with the breakfast really bring it to another level. Within this price range it’s hard to beat and even more expensive hotels sometimes don’t deliver on this level. All in a good stay with a great host

AustriaIf you want to have a quiet night, turn off the AC (which is there for heating) before you go to bed, it makes some noise (room number 5) which is hard to fall asleep to. The blankets are perfectly warm so it was all fine.
Locations is perfect if you’re on your way to Gedser and you need a rest. The room (nr. 5) was huge and nice. The staff was very friendly and polite. We felt very welcomed. The breakfast was good, we got fresh scrambled eggs.

GermanyRoom was a bit run down and cleaning is definitely an issue with dirty floors, mold in the fridge and in the bathroom Good to know: this is a rural area with quite some farming: so expect smells, flies and mosquitoes
Nice owners and staff, great atmosphere, good breakfast, convenient location close to beaches and ferry, comfy beds, access to great garden and lots of free stuff to use like kicker, billiard, massage chairs. Good to know: the house is right next to the big road leading to the ferry terminal but due to good windows you don’t hear the traffic once the windows are shut.

FinlandA bit of occasional noise from the road (our room was next to it).
Very nice breakfast with gluten free options. Owner was making scrambled eggs on request. Kids loved the pool table and yard to play football.

Czech RepublicSpending an evening in a large comfortable living room watching Netflix was nice. Just the TV could be bigger considering its distance from a sofa. I appreciate there was no noise at all. Breakfast was good.

PolandMaybe consider a sign to turn from the road in right place if not using navi :-)
Cosy place, perfectly placed if traveling to DK with Scandlines Rostock - Gedser. Just a great place to take the last ferry, arrive, sleep and go. Simple, but clean and pleasant - for me very scandinavian. Just like places like this where doors are open and you can make coffe by yourself any time, just take juice or beer from the freezer being asked to write it down. Again - nothing perfect but just optimal and with good value for money.

FinlandIt is old but functional. Don’t charge your car here unless you absolutely need to. We were charged 4 DKK per kWh the next day while no mention about charging costs when we asked if we can charge our car in the evening. I should have asked how much it costs. Tesla supercharger a few kilometers away cost half of this per kWh. 4 DKK is robbery.
Cheap for a night’s sleep

DenmarkOur only suggestion would be to let guests know in advance that they would be making up the beds themselves. Was not a big issue but certainly something good to know in advance.
We had a lovely stay and were upgraded upon arrival to a room with a separate living room and lovely private bathroom. Drinks were available in the main kitchen at any time of day at a very reasonable price. Very well-recieved by the owner who was very helpful and available to answer any questions about the area.

United KingdomI appreciate providing clean linen (folded and sealed in plastic bags) but would have preferred not to have to make the bed myself. This is a relatively minor grievance, as everything else was so generous and welcoming I didn't mind making the bed. The property is basically off a farm and there is a distinct smell in the corridors that reflects this. Its important to note that the rooms and bathrooms do not smell. We slept very well, but I wonder if the rooms closer to the road would have had more road noise?
Friendly staff, helpful and prompt via email. Lovely breakfast with a generous selection of cold items (meats, cheese, fruit, yoghurts, chocolate, cereal, etc) as well as freshly cooked to order eggs and bacon. Nice bread and toaster available too, coffee and juices as expected. Lovely that this is included in the price. Nice perk - there is free access to a games room, massage chair, and bicycles to borrow if you want to explore nearby. We used it as a stopover after getting off a late ferry and appreciated the excellent easy to reach location just off the main road. Late check-in was easy (keys laid out in envelope). Free local parking. Comfortable bed and tastefully decorated rooms.

DenmarkThe room was quite small. The bed was quite large. Such a small room could use a smaller bed, however, the huge bed was extremely comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. And that was the purpose.
I really liked the feeling of coming "home" after a long drive. It did not feel like any anonymous hotel. I felt like the place was designed by human beings for human beings. It was absolutely wonderful.

BelgiumThere was a small problem with the room, the photo's on the booking.com site do not match the room. So we had different expectations. We thought we had a seperated room, but this was not the case. The pictures should be modified to match the booked room.
Ole was a very helpfull and nice host. Breakfast was more than ok, with fresh eggs every morning. A lot of extras were available, such as free water and juice, free games... We really enjoyed our stay.
