Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Germanyno staff on side. no body soup or shampoo in the bathroom. the toilet paper was low and we had to ask the cleaning staff the next day for refills.
the room had his own kitchen and also we could use the equipment in the garage. we had breakfast on the terrace. the rooms was clean and comfortable. overall it's good location was close to the bus station and groceries stores

United StatesShower was too small, and water gets all over the bathroom.
There is a shared kitchen & dining room available to eat carry out or cook your own meals. The room was recently remodeled, so it was very neat. Plenty of space. We could walk to restaurants, and the nearby river area was pleasant. Most rooms were in use, but it was still quiet. We could sleep with a window open, and no issues. We only stayed one night, and the town was convenient after hiking around Mons Klint. Very few restaurants, but the brewery had very good food.

FranceI kept tripping up the wooden floor strip between the hallway and bedroom. the sink in bathroom did not empty. had to clean teeth in kitchen sink. also internet kept slipping out

France1.The kitchenette no microwave 2. The parking nearly non existant and difficult to access. 3.The outside dustbin was full for a whole 5 days had to dump my rubbish elseware. 4.No curtains on the ceiling skylight(previous guests made the same comments on booking.com)owner totally ignored them. 5.Lack of lights in the bathroom and kitchen. 6.The fridge door didn't close properly. 7.The outside decking was unstable and my wife fell off her chair as the chair feet went in between the decking. 8.The oustside decking was in a terrible condition.Wood was flaking off and had turned green and totally unstable as it made the table bounce when you walked near to it.. 9.The black key collection box padlock was partially siezed and needed a goog tug to open it.(lack of lub oil) 10.No one cleaned our room in the 5 day period of our stay. For the price and the comfort I cannot recommend strongly enough...dont pick this Motel ...even the electrics seemed out of 1960s Flintstone cartoon comedy...even had to tighten the window hooks as they were loose...what can I say on the positive side,a nice view on the church..oh I forgot the shower pressure was so low even washing was difficult...I want my money back...

BelgiumBooked room for 4 persons but only 2 beds were properly made upon arrival. Sheets are only put out on the other 2 beds. Space next to bed is so narrow that the bedside table is placed sideways, so drawer can’t be opened. Mezzanine level with 2 unmade beds was dusty and there was only a net over the roof window, very light, no proper curtain in a bedroom which means waking up very early. The steep ladder up to the mezzanine level moves and has no hand rails. A bad design/too short shower curtain. The bathmat gets soaked and the whole bathroom floor is flooded during a shower and the metal shower grate plug is sharp. There were bloodstains on a bedsheet and a towel. Teaspoon in kitchen drawer had jam on, took another teaspoon it had egg on. A dishwasher would be more hygienic. We washed up before and after we used things! Not the most relaxing experience.

SpainThe hotel staff was very nice, the cleaning was really good (which is appreciated given the situation in which we live), even the shared kitchen for all the rooms was spotless. It was also only 20 minutes away from the cliffs. My family and I enjoyed our stay very much and would repeat without any doubt!
