Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicIt can be a bit of slog to walk through the tourists to get back and forth to the hotel but when it gets to be too much just walk up Sankt Annae instead. There are a number of cafes and restaurants just a block from Nyhavn.
Excellent location close to the water in Nyhavn. Room was comfortable and we had a small seating area. Hotel has a great deal of historic charm and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was tasty and there was a nice range of options for the time that we were there. We walked everywhere once we checked in and the transfer to and from the airport was easy via the metro which was fairly close to the hotel.

GuernseyThe room was a good size, however we would have preferred a room not on the side of a road where there was building activity.
The hotel location was perfect for what we needed during our trip. The staff were helpful and very pleasant. There was a good selection of food at breakfast to suit all needs. The attached restaurant had friendly staff and a good selection of food.

AustraliaIt is an old building with low ceilings, the footsteps and movements of the people staying above can be disruptive at times.

United StatesThere is not much to dislike about this hotel. The floor in my room was a bit dusty, but this is really.being nitpicky.
The location was fantastic for my preferences, especially being so close to the bustling Nyhavn Harbor area. I could easily walk to any of the restaurants nearby and not have to worry about transportation afterwards. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated, in particular, the exposed wood beams provided an antiquated, but warm feeling. My room was very small, but it didn't come as a surprise based on what I reserved. The breakfast was good with a broad selection of items and even a cook who would prepare fresh eggs to your order. The staff was most friendly and eager to assist, whether it was just answering a question, storing luggage, or during check-in/check-out.

United StatesThe location can be a bit difficult to get to from public transport if you have luggage. This has to do with the cobblestone path and over all hoards of people roaming Nyhavn. Not the fault of the hotel, of course, but worth noting when booking your stay.
I really enjoyed the beautiful location of the hotel. The breakfast was always excellent. The staff were always fun to talk to and had great tips about what to do around town.

United KingdomA bit surprised when the last morning at breakfast of our stay there were no tebirkes. I asked a member of staff, if there were more, but the person had no idea what a tebirkes was. Thought it was a bit sad knowing how Danish a tebikes is. Found the cycle hire ridiculously priced considering the emphasis Denmark has on its cycle culture and the climate. Would have loved a waterside view from our bedroom...perhaps next time.
Excellent breakfast and the staff were lovely and smiley. Reception staff again excellent. Very helpful and fun. We have always stayed at St. Petri when visiting Copenhagen, which is a great hotel, but we fell in love with Nyhavn 71 and its great charm. The location perhaps not as convenient as St. Petri, but worth the extra distance.

AustraliaNothing really
The hotel is in a perfect position, right on the famous Nyhavn and also next to the modern Royal Danish Playhouse. The food and drink facilities at the hotel were excellent and the bed so comfortable! There is a ferry stop right outside and the Metro a short walk away, which will connect you to the central station to travel anywhere outside the city.

United KingdomI can't explain enough how wonderful it was to walk out of the hotel front door every morning and see scenic Nyhavn, the main draw of this hotel is the location for sure, it's almost second to none. The reception staff greeted me so warmly and I felt truly welcomed, there was even a handwritten welcome note in my room which was so lovely. My room was perfect for me as a solo traveler and it came with a great view of the canals.
