Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI was only sorry that I had one night there, I’ll definitely come back!
Absolutely amazing place, I fell in love instantly. This window and windowsill is a highlight of the stay I couldn’t get away from them. I liked the design and felt comfortable there, I wouldn’t remove or change anything in the room. The place is a little bit away from the city center which can be also a good idea if you don’t like crowds, it’s calm.

BelgiumThe luggage room is way too small to store temporarily all belongings of both the early arrival guests (prior to check-in) and the post check-out guests who are all enjoying the city of Copenhagen but don't have a room yet/anymore. On top of that there are ID-tags foreseen to avoid people taking the wrong belongings. Nothing went wrong during our stay, but since the rest of the experience was so great, this minor point stood out. Perhaps the creation of a second luggage storage room (splitting arrivals and departures) could solve this problem.
The hotel is "breathing" Danish design on both the inside and outside. Comfortable beds in a practical room with a high ceiling and industrial look, while preserving the cosy feeling. The rooftop breakfast room offers a wide choice of healthy and tasty products, where possible offered in pre-prepared portions.

United StatesThere isn't a solid wall separating the bathroom from the sleeping area, so if you needed to turn on the light at night, or early in the morning, it would shine on the person sleeping. (Fine if by yourself) The room did not have a refrigerator, which would have been nice since we were there for 5 nights. It was farther away from the trains than I thought. Breakfast was buffet only, which was expensive, so we went elsewhere. I thought the hotel was closer to the train stations, so we walked a lot each day. The free drink from 4:00 - 5:00 didn't work for us because we were out sightseeing until after dinner. The free nightcap at 10 pm was too late since we went to bed at that time or before. We couldn't use the AC to keep the room cool at night.
The bed was comfortable, bathroom roomy, room was generally quiet, but a few times, the rooftop terrace/lounge was noisy in the evenings. We found a great bakery/cafe down the street, Cadence. The ice cream shop around the corner is very good, Beier. The historical elements nearby are interesting to look at, the elephant statues leftover from the Carlsberg Brewery and some other parts left behind in the new development.

Great location - easy to get to and from exploring the city but very quiet at night. Some of the best bakeries within a couple minutes walk and a supermarket not too far. Food & drink was above and beyond my expectations. The complimentary wine hour & night cap was very very generous, as was the breakfast (they even offered free prosecco with breakfast and extensive choice of coffees). Breakfast also was the best breakfast I've had in a hotel; fresh, incredible selection of pastries and bread, they even managed to make great scrambled eggs (which is hard to come by in hotels). The rooftop was gorgeous, as was the restaurant (not part of the hotel but easily accessible via the lift) Rooms and hotel in general is beautifully decorated and felt super private. I liked that the lobby was on the second floor so you didn't have to walk past staff if you didn't want to. All staff was super friendly and accommodating. Can't recommend enough! Will definitely be back!

United KingdomThe breakfast was really poorly staffed so tables were just full of dirty plates and cups. Also coffee was not self serve and you had to bother the 2 or 3 overstretched waiters to make you a coffee, which was really difficult! Also I wouldn’t say the area is that exciting to explore. It’s essentially a very posh suburb with fancy apartments.
Such a stylish hotel - room design was very cool Free wine and spirits every day! Delicious buffet breakfast

DenmarkThe round window is amazing and has a view on a quiet, car-less plaza with a fountain and little restaurant. The location is great and makes it very easy to get to anywhere in Copenhagen with public transportation. The breakfast is amazing and only made better by the fantastic rooftop. If the weather allows, absolutely go outside to eat.

IsraelWe stayed at the hotel as a family with a toddler and actually the only complaint I have about the hotel is the fact that they don't have bikes for rent with a child seat. A hotel that is located some distance from the city center and bicycles are such an important means of transportation in the city, it would be good if it offered bicycles for rent with a child seat.
The breakfast was very rich, well served and it was great to start the day every morning in the dining room. The hotel is located in a regenerating area, which used to be the industrialized area of Copenhagen and is currently undergoing a change. The hotel, which is housed in an old industrial building, is designed in a precise way that on the one hand makes you feel comfortable and on the other hand hints at the history of the place. The heated floor in the bathroom was outstanding. The location of the hotel seems to be far from the city center. It didn't bother us, what with the fact that by bike the distance is very short. Definitely a place I will return to, we enjoyed the location in the heart of a regenerating residential neighborhood that is a little far from the tourist area.

United StatesI think they are missing a big opportunity with available souvenirs and gifts. There was nothing directly related to it being the old Carlsberg brewery. I would have loved to buy a book, tea towel, beer classes, or something like that.

United Statesthe location isn’t great.. it’s a bit of a walk to nearest metro to get to central/landmarks and not much dining or shopping. it’s mostly residential or commercial but quiet and clean the only real flaw with the hotel itself is the top floor; my room was on the 4th floor, below the rooftop restaurant and there was constant scraping and banging noises from the movement of the restaurant chairs - it was hard to sleep even with earplugs
the building design was beautiful and interesting. all of the spaces were very clean and well furnished

GermanyWe don't have any negative comments!
We had a very nice long weekend at Hotel Ottilia. The hotel room was very spacious and we enjoyed the modern design and especially the large window where we could sit. Breakfast was very tasty and served on the top floor with a great view. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the happy hours with free wine and drinks at the bar :-) - The old Carlsberg brewery area is a very nice location, well connected to the city centre. We mainly explored the city by bike.

Breakfast was good - well assorted but waited too long for the coffee. Nice that they have baristas making the coffee for you but maybe give guests the option to make coffee themselves too - minimize waiting and ensure that you get coffee while you also eat
