How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Nothing, the room was good for our needs
The property is close to the main train station. It was great for a quick trip into Kolding which we had visited due to its closeness to Legoland and Lego House. One lovely bus trip through the scenic surrounds of Denmark. The manager is wonderful and very helpful with all requests. The stay is good value for money.

The bathroom was very crammed, just next to the bed. Also you had to make your own bed on arrival. Was a little like a hostel. Check out is 10am and no possibility to request a late check out.
It was in a location that suited us for our visit to Kolding. It was a good room with a comfy bed and a small pentry.

The apartment though says for 3 people, is quite small compared. The windows were not well insulated.
The location of the apartment was great.

Noise transmits somewhat easily in the house - and initially I had to get used to the relatively lively morning outside environment.
Very friendly owner, being very accommodating on my extra demands. Convenient location and lovely prepared breakfast buffet in a cozy environment. Close to the station, city and the fjord - yet not too centrally located.

The shower was a bit (too) basic.
The host was very welcoming and everything was clean. The room had a good size and we got what we paid for. Breakfast was amazing.

The woman who runs the B&B was really nice, the rooms were very clean and the location is right by the train station and the city centre.

Located right next to a big loud and busy road. We could not have the windows opened because of the noise.
Located close to the city center. The owner is very nice and helpful.

The rooms were rather noisy (there were a lot of sirens speeding by during the night) and the area around the parking garage seems dodgy. We were actually worried about the safety of our car.
Very friendly hostess, great breakfast, comfy beds.

Windows in the main room could be more isolated.
Super welcome and advise from Lysbeth. Possibility to heaten simple dinner for tired children. Comfortable beds. Super location close to the station and bus terminal with bus 166 to Billund and Legoland. Kolding is à nice city with charming streets and an interresting Castle to visit.

I think it was a great place. It is an old office building I think transformed to a bed and breakfast. This was done economically which of course is reflected in the price
It was a very nice place. A little quirky but good. We got a parking place which was great, but only 3 places. The location is great as very close to centre restaurants etc

We sleep with open window and as the house was directly to the road, it was very noisy during the night.

The noise of the cars was not ideal, but we managed to get some sleep.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was extremely warm and friendly 😀 Awesome breakfast! Very good location, super close to Kolding Central Station.

It was a cool Saturday breakfast- simple, complete but all tasteful. It has to be planned, because the space is for 10-12 people.

We had a nice little two bed apartment everything was clean and tidy. The bed was quite ok and the price for the apartment was reasonable. Breakfast was good. Free Parting was also available at this evening. Lisbeth is a real nice host and speak´s very good german.
