Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomUnable to safely lock shut the door of your room as well as having the fan (you need to take the key out of the locked door to operate the fan/air con and therefore no safe escape from locked room). Fridge didn’t work on second stay. No hot water on second stay. Unable to use safe as key missing. TV not working on second stay (we were told of this but still not good). Room in need of upgrading - over priced for what you get.
The staff are definitely what makes this place worth staying in. The food. Great trips with Danny.

United StatesOur room was well worn. The hot water didn’t work. The bed was uncomfortable and hard. It only needs some TLC to bring it back to life. We made arrangements for someone to pick us up at the airport, but no one ever arrived, so we took a taxi.
The property was in a jungle with beautiful flowers are birds. The supper was in a separate building on the second floor and it was superb! Everything was made from scratch. Delicious.

SwedenThe double bed we stayed in had a very hard, wooden middle section. There were some holes in the fly nets in the windows and had lots of bugs in the room and ants in the bathroom. It took us a while to work out how to properly close the multi-part mosquito net.
Good hammock and area to chill outside the cabin. The gardens are very beautiful. Also did a great tour with Omari of the Kalinago area and some waterfalls. Staff (mostly spoke to Omari) were very nice.

Saint MartinThe walls are thin, so you could hear the outside very good. We didn't had a problem with it and are neighbors were totally nice, but I can imagine it can be different sometimes :) Just as a tip: in that case take some earplugs with you, because the rest makes up for it!
Nice hotel, friendly staff, close to the airport, so for us the perfect place as a last evening in Dominica. The rooms were spacious and clean. The rooms are all located in a beautiful green environment, what gives it extra charm. We didn't had the breakfast, but we chose to eat our diner there... So delicious! And we took it with a home made rumpunch and made it even more excellent!

NetherlandsThe cabins are a bit small (number 1 at least) but if you are a light traveller then its all okay. And besides the river, there is not a lot to see in the neighbourhood. But the accomodation organizes trips to the various waterfalls or trails further to the south so you could arrange that. And the WiFi in cabin 1 was bad.. but it varies per cabin.. there is good WiFi at the common place where you have breakfast/dinner.
This place is really beautiful. The cabins are completely surrounded by beautiful plants and trees and it has really a relaxing vibe. Perfect for our first stay after the long flight.. You might get to meet some other people (which we did) that you can talk to or even travel with and doing stuff together. We really liked this. The people from Hibiscus were very friendly and easy going. The bar upstairs is nice and you can try a lot of local rums there. The river nearby is very nice to relax and cool off a little bit.

ZimbabweThe bungalows are too close to each other, not best for partners next to each other, i think more sound proof needed urgently so that people can enjoy each other privately. the beds are comfortable, enough size to share with anyone. nice shower.
The service from the day we arrived was welcoming, thanks to OMARI. Its a fmily environment, we tae together, dined, dned and drank as family with other guests, very warm, nice plants around, loved the river, spent most of my time at the river swimming. would definitely visit again

United StatesWe have no complaints. It was all charming.
The rustic bungalows set in a garden of Eden settings were quite comfortable. Water was hot and plentiful generally. (Had low pressure one time when maybe everyone there was showering). The staff was exemplary and cooked good food, from breakfast to bar drinks to delicious dinner. Carean made a hot medicinal tea of nearby herbs to cure our nephew of the results of food poisoning from the night before. He was up and snorkeling by the afternoon! They are always looking out for their guests. Wonderful staff!!

SwedenIf you do not have your own vehicle, you need to have somebody take you places (or take a local bus, but they do not go everywhere, and are irregular and do not operate at all on Sundays), since there is not so much to do in the immediate surroundings. Many of the staff can take you places, but if you arrive late morning or in the middle of the day, there may not be anyone available to transport you. So plan accordingly. You can also go for a walk, a swim in the river, or just hang out in the hammock with a book if you have a half day to fill.
The staff at Hibiscus Valley are all very kind and friendly. We made a last minute reservation at Hibiscus since our originally planned accommodation suffered from heavy rainfall damages and did not have any running water. Our reservation came through quickly and Omali who is super helpful picked us up from the airport. The location is gorgeous, so lush and green and lots of birds around. The bungalows are also very cute and fits right into the environment. Nigel cooked delicious dinners for us, and the breakfasts are also very good and healthy. It is also a great place to meet other travelers as it is a small enough place and everybody eat the meals together. I liked it so much that I changed my plans and came back to stay again during my last night in Dominica. Thank you everyone!
