How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The rooms were noisy and did not have any windows. The latter, one could argue, is the result of the colonial architecture. But the noisiness is just poor planning/design.

The hotel doesn't have its own parking space, finding a spot to park the car was hell...
Very good breakfast included, nice, spacious room, had a mini fridge.

Difficult to find parking, there is no any window in a room. All the time Dominican hospitality means - we try to find a way to get money from you. They ask for deposit in dollars and try to return in pesos(to make some money in exchange rate). They ask money for watching your car, when it is not official. And no matter it can be completely free hotel - you will get the cheapest and easiest room. We travel a lot and usually to satisfy guests we get better service if it is possible- reception and service team try to give as best as they can. Here - no. If you want better - pay, always pay.
Very good location, reception 24/7, secure. It is always clean in the rooms, they have nice breakfast included to the price. It is in the central square of the city in the cafe

No hot water. Not at all. For 2 whole days! All the staff will recite the same story: it is a temporary issue and it will be fixed (many others had this problem, so be wary). And ofc no hairdryer after a cold shower. On top of that: room without window and no clothes hangers (not even a shelf!). Moreover, when I arrived the sheet had multiple stains, but it was fine the second day after the housekeeping. Value for money close to 0. Stay away

This property is amazing!! There’s lots of nice restaurants and stores at walking distance from the hotel! There’s always someone at the lobby willing to go above and beyond to help the guests! I love this place!

The charged $20 for towels being “stained” I washed my face and there was a little make up on it and they charged me almost half of my stay for it… never will I book here again.

I had a terrible experience during my check in the night of August 20, I had a reservation and the front desk agent Erick Duran answer me that the reservation didn’t show in their system and there was not room available for me. He couldn’t assist me to solve their issue and just told me to find another hotel, he also told me that if I want I can write a review in booking, I ask him to contact his manager and he told me that he won’t disturb him, I ask the front desk agent if he can arrange transportation to another hotel and he denied to help me with this, he says I should pay for that because hotel is not able to pay, All this happened at 11:30PM, this definitely a really bad service to me, I stayed for 4 nights in this hotel when I came back from a tour I decided to stay here again and this situation really kill my experience with this hotel.

Room has no windows, kitchen area is outdated. We had no hot water. And for some time no water at all. Funny thing that when cheching out they go to check your room and you have to wait. But there is nothing to check as the room is very simple and there is no mini bar. That was very strange
