Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. But there were a few areas of improvements I would note - some of this may have been because of a language barrier (it's better if you know Spanish or are adept with Google Translate), but still: 1) We had 3 free bottles of water in our fridge when we arrived, and we asked for bottles of water every day, which they gave to us. But then, on the second to last day, they said that we actually needed to pay for them - but they also didn't remember how many they had given us. They are only 50 pesos each, but communication could have improved. 2) The mini-jacuzzis were fun, but you have to ask them to turn it on, and it's not clear how long the jacuzzi lasts - also, the water takes a long time to get lukewarm. 3) The water pressure / heat in the shower isn't strong. 4) Finally, they asked if we wanted them to clean the room. I thought they were asking if they wanted them to clean the room that day, but then we didn't end up having cleaning service during the 5 days we were there. Perhaps this was a language issue, but still a bit odd. There were a lot of small ants in our room by that time - not a huge deal, but definitely don't leave food out. 5) Also, in the bathrooms, I wish they had more racks or something to hold your clothes or towels.

This is a great little locally-owned hotel up on the hill in Samana. Pros: the staff are all very kind and friendly (and very patient with our mediocre Spanish) and very responsive over WhatsApp. It gives your stay a personal touch. The rooms were spacious, clean, and a good temperature. Unless you're planning to spend a lot of time in your room, this is a great place to relax after a long day of activities.There were 3 of us - there was one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and the other bedroom had 2 smaller beds; all very comfy. I liked that the apartments had a kitchen and a large fridge if needed. TV and WiFi generally worked well by Dominican Republic standards. We loved the simple but delicious free breakfast every morning on the terrace (they can also take it to your room instead, if you wish) and the fact that there were jacuzzis and a bar with pool tables. They have a mini-store if you forget toiletries (they offer some basics in each room's bathroom) and dinner if needed. They have a garage for those with cars, and the taxi service associated with the hotel is an awesome guy named Nani who can also offer you tours as well. While it's a bit far (20 minute walk - but no one walks :D) from the boardwalk, it's not too expensive to go down to the sea for a meal if you want.

They don't have enough staff. Not enough housekeeping. I had to wait almost 2 hours after ordering my dinner to eat.

The street is noisy, not hotel's fault but is a thing to consider. Many locals chill out on street with motorcycles and you could hear the noise on the area

This hotel is out of the city touristic areas, this is actually good because I was interested in exploring Samana Bay beaches so this helped me to avoid city's traffic, for me is fair for the price. Rooms are cleaned daily and the breakfast is more than enough. Kitchen is well equipped and they have parking available. There is a little market one block away to buy food.

The location is a little off from what I was looking for and the food service at night was slow and it wasn't all that tasty. But I would go back, just not eat there.

The place is spacious and clean. It looks good and there's hot water. The communication was effective and the breakfast options are good. It has a superior terrace with a hot tub.

The location of this apartment hotel is just beside a main road. The rooms have no insultaion, so the noise of the street hits you bad. We could not sleep past 5AM, when some local workers thought it is a good idea to shout on their way to work... and then around 5:30 the traffic began.

Breakfast was delivered to the apartment.
