Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI have four complaints. There was no screen door in the room. We neither of us like air conditioning. Because of mosquitos, we had to leave the door to the veranda shut. A screen door would have been really nice. The theater shows start at 9:30, and end at 11:00. That means it was very difficult to get to sleep until 11. It would be better to end at 10:00. The wifi in our room's verandah was fine. Go inside the room and it disappeared. That meant always having to use the verandah. This is 2024. There shouldn't be that kind of a problem. There was a lot of glass, plastic bottles, and junk on the north end of the beach past the next resort. Whenever it rained, there was junk in the water. Masks, bottles, plastic wrappers, sea weed. There was a lot of sea weed on the beach. It wasn't all cleaned up every day. Despite these things, we still recommend the hotel highly.
I liked just about everything about the place, except what I will list below. It was a very nice place, the staff was excellent, the beach didn't take forever to get to, the buffet was extremely excellent. We were very happy about everything, especially the quality of the food. We have been to the Dominican Republic three times previously, but this was the first time in Puerto Plata. The other place was a bit more upscale overall, but the buffet food was not as good overall as the Iberostar

United StatesI’d skip the actual restaurants - they were subpar and the buffet had better food.
Quick drive from the airport, easy check-in, rooms were clean and kept cool, a lot of water stations for refills, plenty of pool and beach chairs so you don’t need to fight for one, clean beach and great buffet from breakfast/lunch/dinner. Calmer than Punta Cana and easy to relax.

United StatesThe rooms need some updating. There weren’t enough power outlets in our room. The food was not good but it’s what to expect at an all inclusive resort. The bartenders made the drinks very weak, again to be expected.
Beautiful grounds, beautiful beach and beautiful pool.

United StatesThe only thing that I didn’t like on the resort was some of the experiences while on the beach. There were people who owned their own shops somewhere near or on the beach that were persistently attempting to sell you things. Even when you say no they would take a few minutes of just standing there and not walking away. This happened multiple times while being on the beach and it happened every day! Which definitely made it hard to relax and enjoy the beach. Also, no fault of the resort at all! But it was a red flag so we weren’t able to enjoy going in the ocean as much as we wanted to due to the lifeguards enforcing that people weren’t able to go in the water.
What I loved about the resort was how friendly everyone was! I felt safe being at the resort. It was a beautiful place. The resort was well kept and the views were amazing. There was so much room at this place. I loved the fact that the beach was only a few feet away from our hotel room. The price was amazing for everything that was included. There were so many options of breakfast and food! Our family definitely very much enjoyed the Japanese/hibachi. We ended up eating there 3 times during our stay there because the food was great and the experience was amazing! The pool was clean and well kept. Staff were constantly out cleaning things. There were so many great places to take pictures. The peacocks on the resort were cool to see! There are so many different thing and activities to participate in and keep you busy while staying on the resort.

Dominican RepublicPersonally I wasn't a big fan of the food quality even thought they hand a lot of options for everyone. Also, they could have more fun spaces for all ages were people can recreate during day and night.
The beach was great and the rooms are vey big and comfortable. It has some nice spaces and the staff is super friendly, specially the cleaning ladies. It also very easy to get there for tourist since its near the airport.

United StatesThe beach water was full of seaweed. The water looks great at the surface, but when you go into it, it was full of seaweed. We did not see many people going into the water.
All-inclusive menus, servers, atmosphere, shows, outside the beach water, and activities. On our first night, they have a beach party with fire, music, drinks, a live show, etc. It was great.
