Nothing really. If I wanna be picky I would say that they should invest in adding a sofa in the bedroom. The room is huge and in my opinion could be used in a better way!

I didn't like that when we went to other Bahia resorts next to Ambar, we did not get the same good drinks there. At other resorts we got well or bottom shelf drinks.

Huge room and good size balcony. Comfy bed. Decent shower. Great food. Spacious and well equipped air conditioned gym.

Bed was very firm - a mattress topper would help and pillows were hard. Having to reserve chairs by 7:00 am was a bit disappointing. They should have someone monitoring the chairs, if you are gone for more than 90 min - your chair is up for grabs!

Room way too cold. No shower privacy. Had to call to ask for soap, shampoo, tissues and washclothes on first day there. Very strong language barrier.

Food was good, pool was great. Lots of shade. Big room. Waitresses by pool and beach were great. Easy to get around.

the drinks at the pool aren't that great, they are really sweet and pretty much no alcohol, so just skip cocktails and ask something strong, beer is awful and theres only 1 kind of beer (presidente, it sucks), you need to pay for a corona or heineken if you want one IN AN ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT so that's pretty lame and make us angry, in the lobby you have jack daniels and pretty good whiskey but when we went to the disco (the disco is part of the resort and is also all inclusive), it has a low cost whiskey and low cost drinks, it didn't taste good so we never went back. staff sometimes is not helpful mostly from lobby and from restaurants or their answers are not helpful answers.

The 3 rooms our family stayed in all agreed that the mattresses were very firm and uncomfortable. The doors on the rooms have to be slammed shut because they stick. All night you could hear doors slamming in the hall. The pool at Ambar was cloudy and had a bit of a foul odor.

Beach was beautiful. The staff did an excellent job of cleaning up seaweed. The staff was phenomenal! The food was good. The room was clean.

The a la carte restaurant food was very inconsistent and sometimes not very good. One of our group got sick from something at the main buffet. We did not enjoy the seaweed on the beach. We also had very noisy neighbors that were disruptive.

The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were well cleaned and the property was nicely kept. The buffet had alot of variety and selection. We enjoyed the activities and liked that the noisy ones all ended at 11 pm.

I booked the resort for 2 people. When i purchased for some reason it only had one person listed. They charged me 680.00 us dollars to add my fiance at checkin. B.s.

Iliana our maid checked on daily and made some cute swan shape with our towels n put flowers in the room.

The night time staff - butler service/front desk - I feel could need some more training. I tried to schedule a late checkout, to which the staff member told me they couldn't help - and I would need to return at 8pm for the morning shift to work out that issue. Another issue was - there was a group mix-up with my friends for a dinner reservation for a 7pm meet-up. Since we were part of a wedding party, these things happen. This same staff member was crewing the Butler service counter - to which we asked for assistance, to which He mentioned he was locked out and couldn't help us. We then resorted to walking down to Tequila - spoke with the staff there - to which they easily accomodated us and was able to merge our dinner reservations that way. We were able to handle it ourselves, but would have liked the staff member to hopefully have called on our behalf - which would have solved the scheduling faux-pax.

The general experience was wonderful. I went for a friend's wedding and set this reservation up almost a year in advance. The staff overall was very pleasant and caring. The spa was a delight and had a wonderful time at the restuarants (Limbo, MEAT, and Tequila). Overall, for an all enclusive experience - I was very much impressed compared to past personal experiences.

the app wasn’t up to date so activities and meal availability wasn’t right- Wi-Fi was intermittent. checkin was at 3 but our room wasn’t ready till 5:30. the resort was large but it is very restrictive on where you go.

I would suggest getting more chairs by the pool area - there are plenty of areas where more chairs could be put - or even take out the little wicker lounger chairs and add more pool chairs. We never had an issue getting chairs for the day - but that is because we were out early.

Our visit to Ambar was absolutely incredible. It was our first trip to the DR, and we booked Ambar based on reviews, location, and also the pricing. We were blown away by the facility, and it far exceeded our expectations going in. The staff was absolutely amazing! We had Juan Carlo as our butler, and he was fantastic, and so friendly. The wait staff, housekeeping, grounds staff - were all friendly, kind, helpful, and eager to please. The drinks were good, the pool staff works so hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. The rooms were large, and clean - and the bed was comfortable - although next time I will request a pillow top. Food was great - we had really great experiences at most of the restaurants, but we did not try Limbo or the Japanese steakhouse. Overall - we are already planning our next stay, and it was an incredible trip from start to finish.

all seats at pool were taken by 7am and most of beach? it’s ridiculous. a lot of them were ‘saved’ and then not even occupied until after 12. it’s says on signs no reserving seats but clearly staff does not help with this. drink were terrible . pretty sure liquor is watered down . we were initially giving a ground floor room with an open toliet & shower ( a handicap friendly facility basically) which is great however it was me and my perfectly able mom?! so we had to use the toilet in front of each other ! asked to change after first night and we were accommodated but had to wait until 4:30 and move our own stuff- not very 5* and i still don’t understand why they gave us that room and never even asked if that was ok?!

too spread out. it was hard to find all of the amenities offered because they weren’t on Ambar but sister resorts. It wasn’t made clear when booking that you are sharing your beachfront place with the 3 sister resorts that are back away from the water. Other adults also came from the sister resorts to our adults only pool which further crowded. No sun loungers to be found after 10am. In true all inclusive style there is plenty of food but it is so-so quality (but I am a foodie)
