Our room has a strong odor of muld or cleaning detergent. The view was supposed to be ocean front, but it was minumm 100 m away from the beach front with a pool in the middle. And it wasn't the ocean, actually. The property, if faced towards the carribean, sees and not the atlantic ocean. Hot water wasn't working, and our reservation got messed up so they couldn't get our reservation in the system.

The location isn’t great. The ocean was murky. There were jellyfish and my partner got stung. Our telephone didn’t work, so 24 hour room service was not available. We had to go down to the lobby anytime we wanted to ask a question. The speciality restaurants were bad. The main buffet was way better.

private chauffeur service always blocked at entrance, although the same car, driver was the same for the whole week. Reception was always informed in advance but every day the same delay because of blocked driver at the entry.

My room was borderline hot. I requested someone check it out, but he assured me it was fine. It was the following day before I got cool. Room service was terrible, and whether or not you got your order was 50/50. The app they use is awful. The staff was good, bad, and ugly. Some were great, others definitely not. They were rude because I didn't want room service but asked for a washcloth (only one was provided in the first place) and sugar. A guy who brought my room service order literally sat down in the chair and watched me eat. It was weird at best. My butler was nice enough but not all that attentive. For instance, I asked him to bring some drinks to my room (not sure why that's not handled by room service), but they never arrived.

The receptionists were very helpful at all times during my stay. The pool was nice, and the bartenders were great. The beach was adequate. The room was very spacious (junior suite with pool view). The Asian fusion place had great food, and the breakfast selection was very good; the rest of the food I had was meh.

Staff not willing to help, want a wheelchair for my mom and i had to really insist and she is handicapped.. they booked my in reservation for night restaurants (Ana) and my reservations wasn’t there..I tried to get the room near my mom and they told me that they will do it but they didn’t. The better answer for them is: como tomorrow to check. Never see this before and I travel a lot

Honestly, the music was so low barely audible. The beach had these gross flies by the masses that made staying at the beach impossible.

Too much entertainment noise while on the beach! This was VERY annoying, and not something I would say was expected at a "luxury" resort. Also, no one was around to stop people being loud and annoying at the "quiet pool" which was VERY annoying, since I wanted peace. I also asked 3 times to fix the TV remote, and it was never done.

The food was great, although, my partner suffered "tourista" for the first 2 days, after eating one of the cold seafood salads at the buffet.

There was an issue in my booking, and due to the lack of communication between the hotel and Booking, I paid extra money. I tried during all the week to resolve the issue but client service was horrible. also, we had a big water leak in our first room, cold water in the next one and all sinks with water dropping all night.

Dominican music going constantly at pool, not relaxing. checked out 3 days early still no reimbursement and rebooked w/ Booking in Punta Cana. still no resolution.

Please do not book this resort and read my experience here. I know there are snobby clients that complain about the most ridiculous things, I am not this guest. Since I travel so often and understand what the requirements and responsibilities the hotel/resorts must provide for their customer, I knew that I had to write this review. It would be a disservice to anyone who is looking to stay at this hotel for me not to share my experience. Every time I look for a hotel, I try to do as much research as possible so that I get the best bang for my buck and enjoy my stay. When I booked this resort I saw great reviews on google and it was not priced an arm and a leg so it was the logical choice. Let me begin with arrival, on the first night I dined at the resort at their buffet. The buffet was typical resort food, was a little disappointed considering this was suppose to be a 5 star resort. That night, 3-4 hours later I experienced cramps but thought nothing of it. The following day I had diarrhea, nausea and stomach cramps. Initially my partner and I thought it was the tap water, then we thought it was the pork or red meat and we stopped drinking tap water from the buffet and eating the pork from the buffet but the pain was still there. What makes this situation more insane is that I talked to a guest by the pool that also said she had diarrhea and a couple by the buffet also said that one of their friends had the same stomach ache and symptoms. I tried to brave it out but it was impossible. It was on Tuesday 6/14/22 when I was eating from the buffet and had shrimp on my plate and noticed a maggot-like animal crawling on the shrimp. I immediately recorded the incident and notified the staff and they were alarmed and told me the restaurant director would come, he never came but instead another employee who took down a report which I have a copy of. Then the hotel director came in and asked us how we were feeling.

No hot water. No water pressure. Shower room has never been cleaned for entire stay. Couldn't use tub even for luke water because there was no water pressure. Toilet after use had been keeping the smell for hours after use. A/C was on the same _economy mode_ even though I moved it to a colder temperature or more fan, but no change happened. Beach: The staff cleaned the beach sand in three days after they opened the resort, sand was dirty and full of thorns and stuff that fell of palms, flies were everywhere and in numbers. The staff didn't clean the water with nest as they did when we were there in 2019, so I was badly stun as well as other people. That caused many of us seek other places - which we found in another resort's beach, which had little number of people and tranquil water without stinging jelly fish or water growth. So, the beach experience was terrible in terms of sitting there or swimming.

Pool in the farther end, very quiet, clean, serenity. Beach and water view - exceptional. Room is large and very functional. People were attentive trying to accommodate. People serving during all meal times were good and going out of their way to help. People at front desk were very helpful in all inquiries. Our late check out was accommodated and that was very nice. Dinner in gourmet restaurant - wow!!! All Covid precautions were in place and followed. Place is quiet and we loved it during our previous stays.

The two things I would say the bed is really hard (but once in the sun all day you pass out). I did not enjoy the food for room service, but we did that once.

My first time at Bahia Principe Bouganville and I loved it. The staff was so helpful and always with a smile. The rooms were beautiful, always cleaned, loved that I was near the pool and lobby. The pool area was so much fun from the entertainment, right up to the pool party. The food was delicious, the drinks were good. Really enjoyed the entertainment in the lobby.

The beach itself was misleading as the water is dark and dirty and not what you see in the pictures. Also, the buffet food was not very good.

The property itself was very nice, they have marble and granite quite extensively throughout the premise.
