How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We had a layover of 2 nights in the Dominican republic with flight in and out from Punta Cana. Sol Caribe Hotel was for us a perfect accommodation for our short stay with an excellent value for money. Very comfortable and clean room. Very friendly people and positive vibes. Abundant food for breakfast - I loved the pancakes.

It was a stop over for 1 night before returning home. It was close to the Bavaro Los Corales beach. The restaurant is really great. Definitely an opportunity to experience an international Asian cuisine.

Very friendly personal, they try to do all the best. They clean the room every 2 days. Just 3 mins walk to the beach.

The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The staff was very friendly! Everything was clean. I only stayed for a night so I can‘t judge most of surroundings, but there were shops, pharmacies and quite a lot of different restaurants in walking distance.

Received a warm welcome from reception girls who gave us a tour of the hotel area and bedroom. Room is spacious and bed is comfortable, AC worked properly. Breakfast in the mornings were great and satisfying. Eating areas are in close proximity to the hotel, lots of choices. Beach is also within walking distance.

This is an apartment in a residential area, walking distance to the beach. Rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. There's air conditioning, fan, flat screen TV, wardrobe, desk and small balcony. Outdoors area on the terrace is just great, lovely views. It's nicely designed and decorated. Inside the room there's a huge wardrobe with mirrors. Bathroom is equipped with sink, shower and toilet, mirror, few hangers on the door and wall. Hairdryer is available at the reception. There was soap in there, too. Small kitchenette is equipped with microwave oven, bowls, plates, cups and glass. There's fridge and few shelves. Surfaces are covered with glass. Bed is OK. Next to the bed there's power socket and small night tables with drawers. The room is greyish, very nice and decorated with painting on the wall. In the hallway there's a bottle of filtered water available. Staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast was tasty. Overall a good stay.

The reception in this hotel is very professional and helpful. The rooms are very clean and functional. A pleasant swimming pool and a very good restaurant on site. A safe establishment. A hotel very close to the airport (ideal for day use or for a stopover before a trip). I highly recommend this establishment without hesitation.

The staff “Jonnhy” pretended he could not accept credit card but only Cash or Revolut Transfer… when finally He offered me after rude negotiation to charge me from the terminal Credit Card at the restaurant next door without seeing the room. When I saw the room I was disapointed as The light was miserable, the AC was dirty and you could clearly see it as it has not been cleaned in a while. I mean the whole room did not look like the attractives pictures from publication on Booking. I would skip the area anyway as the hotel and the others around are quite the same.
