The bedrooms are quite basic (but clean) and don’t have windows. But that doesn’t matter as you have the lovely garden area and it’s cheap. Puerto Plata itself is really not worth visiting. If you are arriving or leaving from the airport better to stay in Cabarete.

A little haven of peace and tranquility in a busy town. Really lovely owner who gives good advice and makes sure you don’t get ripped off with taxis etc. Great breakfast and big fresh water containers to fill your bottles. Gorgeous garden and pool area and nice place to chill for solo travellers. It’s within walking distance from the colonial area and main attractions - and thank goodness - a world away from the big all inclusive hotels and cruise ships.

The peaceful tranquility of this place! The owner is serene and lovely. All kinds of magical touches. I will be returning! A hidden gem.I felt like I was home. And the breakfast was delicious. Fresh fruits, eggs, coffee. Just Wow!

The beds were quite firm and the springs were noticeable, but better than many I have stayed in, very typical for the area if you aren't in a chain hotel.

Beautiful place, nice gardens, lovely breakfast. The pool was clean and great. Nice that they had lots of Indoor seating and outdoor, easy to relax and read on the property without being confined to your room.

Amazing garden, good breakfast with lots of fruit, exeptionally helpfull and nice owner. Rooms are basic but very clean and the beds are comfortable. Kitchen available if you want to make some tea :-) Thank you Francisca for your hospitality!

The only minor inconvenience was that the shower head has seen better days, only half of the beam worked. However water temperature and pressure were great and it got the job done.

The house is beautiful and the garden super peaceful, a gorgeous place to stay. The breakfast was delicious, home made eggs, fresh fruit, bread and juice served in the garden. There is a fridge if you want to keep your own food. The beach, city centre, shops and restaurants are all walkable distance. And Francia is super helpful and accommodating, she assisted us so much in getting a tour organized and even helped me to translate and communicate with my Uber driver

- Accepts only cash, no credit card (but this is common outside of Santiago and Santo Domingo) - Some mosquitoes in the common check-in area (but the host has mosquito repellent available)

- Francis, the host, was extremely kind, attentive and informative- she basically planned my entire itinerary for the whole stay and even told me the price that locals pay for gua gua and moto taxis- amazing! - The room had air conditioning and was located in the back (room did not have windows), so I did not hear too much motorcycle noise - The shuttle bus to Samaná departs in front of the hotel, really convenient - House rules include no parties and no local strangers coming off the street, very secure and safe - Breakfast was light and healthy, a lot of fruit, she even prepared breakfast for me an hour early because I had a tour - The host woke up early at 5:30am to send me off to Las Terrenas - Clean room and property I would highly recommend staying here! What a lovely family.

There was a very large common-room where you could watch TV, adjacent to the bedrooms, and there were tables in there for breakfast, should the weather not be cooperative enough to enjoy it outside in the garden area. The room was cavernous, which meant it echoed, so once breakfast was being served, from 8:00 onward, the sound coming from the dining area would most likely wake you up, as it did me. There's a door that separates the bedrooms from the dining area, so I closed it, but it seems the staff kept reopening it (?), which meant you don't get to sleep past 8:00 AM. It would have been nice if they took this into consideration.

It was centrally-located, yet felt away from the city because of it's lush surroundings. The room was basic, but nice and clean, with a nice big bathroom. The breakfast was very good. The owners were on-site and pleasant.

Nothing I didn’t like but just fyi there are no tvs in the room and though my room had a window outside, not all of the rooms did.

We ended up staying almost a week due to a hurricane. The staff was super friendly and nice. I'm planning to go back in February and will definitely stay with them again. The breakfast was fine, the location was also fine. Walking distance to the beach and other entertainment areas.

Everything is very clean and organized. The only thing that should be improved is the television in the room since they don't have it, but after all, everything is excellent.
