Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHouse wine was rubbish yet very expensive. Breakfast expensive, half the cost is a room, and not included.

EcuadorThe water was barely running in the evening, but the pressure returned in the morning. Even though the place is only a few minutes away from the beach, it is located on a small hill, the access by car is a bit tricky due to the condition of the road.
The room was very spacious with a big terrace, and both air conditioning and mosquito nets were included. The place offers peace and quiet and the design of the room and the area is incredible!

GermanyLocation is still a Bit in recovery after the tourist down due to COVID and the country-wide shutdown. all the basics are working, but compared to some earlier descriptions some of the features are not in place any more. I keep fingers crossed that the whales nearby help to bring back the visitors to this place also.

EcuadorThe food was seriously overpriced specially if you tried anything from the beach or the little towns around the location. Even though the staff was friendly and everything the food was bad for the price so it’s better to just eat in the restaurants near the beach if it’s posible.
The view is amazing from any of the rooms and the facilities are beautiful, very comfortable and very calm. a big change of scenery form the city

NetherlandsThis time of the year (November) it's low season and we didn't know. It means that the weather is quite cold, the town fully closed (no restaurants open) and nothing on the beach. The location was a bit too tranquil for us, so we took taxi's every day to Puerto Lopez.
Very nice and beautiful lodge! Everything is so clean, loved our room with the big terrace with hammocks and the owner did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Restaurant is nice as well and the staff can arrange all sorts of excursions and services.

FinlandQuite little getaway spot a little walk away from the beach and the main drag, Azuluna Ecolodge offers a perfect hideout for a day or two, or five like for me. I think I was the only guest in the house, and had the whole dorm to my self. Kitchen was still open and the staff provided me with excellent foods with reasonable prices.

GermanyI unfortunately didn’t feel welcome by none of the service staff… also the bamboo houses have their own smell and you cannot really open the windows to let fresh air in as the windows were stuck. you will share the room with some insects and the bathroom with a lot of cockroaches. the day I left the reception (which is also the kitchen and where you store your food) was still closed at 7:40 even though they say to serve breakfast at 7:30. I couldn’t take my food from the fridge as I had to leave punctual. the breakfast was eggs with very dry slices of bread and you had to ask to get coffee. I was very much looking forward to that stay but now can unfortunately not recommend it. there are nicer places around and the village has a beautiful energy.

Ecuador- My daughter fell and hit her head on a rock going up a slope to reception that has been built laterally uneven. No handrails for support. - I was told check-in time was 13.00 on WhatsApp with the owner but when we got there at 13.30, we were told we had to wait 45 minutes for our room. - The check-in procedure was not welcoming. We weren't voluntarily given any information about breakfast or parking or attractions nearby. We didn't receive the air-con remote when we got our room. There was an unnecessarily long sign-in form asking for details such as employment and marital status, which I didn't understand why they needed to have this information. - The air conditioning unit was broken and the remote control didn't work. At first, it only blew air at 24c on high. A member of staff had to get another control from another room and turn it on for us but then took away the control to give it back to other guests. So we were stuck with that setting all night unable to change it if we wanted to. - Our room had a pane of glass missing in a window that we had to stuff with a towel at night to stop mosquitos from coming in. - It was hard to regulate the shower temperature. It went from cold to extremely hot and I was unable to find a happy medium. - Honestly, I did like this place. I found it very charming and would definitely like to stay here again but absolutely not for the price I paid. I was expecting a lot more for that price and was disappointed.
The breakfast was great! The upstairs games room was a pleasant place to relax. The beds were comfortable.

CanadaThere was a persistent odor of sewage outside our room, which frequently entered our room. The septic tank appeared to be directly outside of our room, and the top was partially broken. Most of the staff were very pleasant, but one fellow, who appeared to be the manager/owner, seemed rather unwelcoming, surly in fact.

United StatesFirst, we always order a Queen or King size bed when we book accommodations. The bed we were given was easily a Double of Full; the manager said it was an “Ecuadorian Queen.” I asked about moving to another room and was told all of the rooms were booked. Then, we had taken a shower at night, after sight-seeing the first day, and woke up to stuff in our bed. When I mentioned this to the staff (I think one of the gentlemen was the owner), they understood our anger/disappointment, but explained it as wood droppings from termites. Finally, I had shared with the staff before booking the Azuluna that my husband and I wanted to be in a very quiet environment over New Year’s (Ecuadorians use any occasion to party). We were assured it would be quiet. HOWEVER, the rest of the Lodge was booked during our stay by a group—and they were very loud (long into the night). I tried to contact the management for them to say something (like, could the music be turned down as it was now 11 p.m.?), and received no response. This was NOT the quiet get-away we had been seeking.
The food at the Azuluna Lodge was definitely the best part of being there. The breakfasts were generous and delicious; and the one dinner we had there was exceptional.

United StatesThere was wood bust on top of the mosquito net that when I laid down on the bed it all fell on top of me .it was a lot .The air conditioning wasn’t working . They did fix it but took about 40 minutes him going back and forward. For a family room the shower should be a more private.
It’s pretty to look at .. it had a great view . The mosquitoes nets was a plus since there’s so many bugs around and in the room .once the ac started working it cooled off very well .
