How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The weather. :)
The staff was very friendly, the breakfast good, the wifi very good. The location is on walk distance to the Foch Plaza where a lot of action is. The beds good, hot shower. So what else do you want.

Bed was very short and narrow - not comfortable for anyone over 175cm. Noise in insulation between the rooms wasn't good, we had to wake up early for a flight and couldn't sleep because of the neighbor room's TV. Hot water temperature could be better

I never love it when I am making an effort to speak Spanish and staff respond in English. (My Spanish is not perfect, but is definitely functional in such contexts.) This happened a few times during my stay and always with the same female staff person. The other staff were very accommodating.
The staff were extremely nice and helpful -- both during my stay and in arranging airport transport. The room was not huge, but comfortable and very clean. The breakfast at Terra was exceptional: several hot and cold options, fresh juice, and espresso drinks.

Private atmosphere with a clean and cozy room. The public terrace is as well very welcoming. Although it's located in the middle of downtown, it was very quite. We like the atmosphere and the bars and pubs are just 5 minutes by foot. Our receptionist speaks English and was very friendly. They even prepared breakfast at 05:30 am. Thanks. We will book another two days after our return from Galapagos Island.

Water pressure wasn't amazing as well as the hot water but it wasn't terrible. Room is a bit small so if you need some space consider upgrading to a bigger room.
The staff was very helpful and nice, they have started helping us in all our needs even before the date of our reservation. Room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was great. Location is nice and quiet and feels really safe. One of the best cost to value you will find.

The building is beautiful, but it is old and in wood. This means that you can hear other guests from your own room (and some guests are quite noisy, or speak quite aloud when talking on the phone). Depending on how tolerant you are to this, this is something to consider. If you are okay with this, for the great rates and exceptional staff, this hotel is very worthwhile!
The hotel is in a great location, very close to Plaza Foch (with many restaurants) and to Parque El Ejido. It is also easy to get to the Historic center of the city. The building is beautiful, a nice house reconverted into a hotel. Breakfast is good, and prepared personally for each guest. Moreover, the rates were great and I could book my weekend for a great deal! The highlights of this hotel: the personnel! At the reception desk, Jonathan was super friendly, polite, and helpful. In the night shift, Fernando was also super friendly, polite, and helpful; he was also a great company for a night owl like me, and provided lots of great information about the city that helped me enjoy the visit to Quito!

An extra blanket o would be nice.
Best location near restaurants and bars and plaza foch. Very safe. In-room safebox, hot water, nice bed, clean, exellent service. Good breakfast. And it is a hotel for the price of a hostel. Most of my tours departed from plaza foch just 3 blocks from the hotel.
