Community Hostel is the best hostel I've stayed in so far. The staff is the sweetest, speaks great English and has a great energy. The hostel is super clean, the breakfast and dinner options delicious and always lots of activities. And the rooftop is fantastic for the weekly bonfires or if you need a quiet moment. It's also located right next to the central market and super close to the old town.

Yo yo yo, I liked the staff ❤️ Bere, Kari and Vero, dancing on the table in the mornings, delicious food made by Jerly, getting drunk on the roof, family tripping, comfortable and quiet beds, activities (especially ones written downstairs) and overall lovely, safe atmosphere, I'll be back one day to see all the esooo squad again! ❤️ take care guys

Need some place to sit at the kitchen of the 1th floor

I am traveling for 5 months now and this one of the best hostels I have been in South America. The staff are very nice, there is a very good Dinner everyday for 6$. Showers and toilet in high standart.

I loved the environment which was calm and comforting. Free all day tea and coffee was also very very nice. From the moment I walked in all the staff was super helpful and had suggestions for anything that I needed. They even helped me out with a covid test and a taxi when I needed to leave to the airport. Could not have had a better experience.

This is a fantastic hostel, very affordable, close to the historic district, very comfy beds and lots of space in the dorms, a 5 star breakfast and dinner offered as well, very friendly staff who are very helpful with whatever you need and will book tours for you as well.

my first trip when I just arrived in Ecuador, and I was lost my bag, the staffs there so nice and they even help me call the airline staffs to trying help me get my bag back. even the manager was help me with this. it was so nice to staying there.

no credit card payment come on… electric plug just in the drawer under the bed (which I liked) but apart from that I found it difficult to charge a PC or phone especially when you need to work a bit. I really missed a small table where I can put my PC and do some stuff while charging my PC.

The location of the hostel is not safe at night

The hostel is great. The rooftop is amazing. I love that they have a space to work and nice little hide aways to get some work done. They have a shared kitchen so you can make meals. It really does feel like home. I loved it

It is a very noisy hostel.

The food was the star of the show, the top floor terrace has fantastic views over Quito. The staff is polite and helpful. The room was not what I was expecting, but it was comfortable, and it had enough space for our things. It was really nice to have a couple of enexpensive tours starting at the hostel. There is a really nice food market on the other side of the hostel.

No outlets near the bunks, no curtains, and there was a lot of noise from outside very early in the morning. The laundry service and airport pickup service were really bad and expensive.

Good vibes, good common area and activities. A couple of really fantastic bathrooms.

This review is only for the private rooms. I can't comment for the dorms. There were so many things to not like! 1. The area is really really dangerous. I am sorry that the hotel can't do much about this but this is a serious problem. 2. The room is really basic. For the same price, you can get a better place in a better neighborhood. 3. Sometimes, the staff and owner are not professional. One day, they just announced that they can't serve breakfast on time because everyone got too drunk for the owner's birthday the previous night. 4. The towels they provided were literally rags. They are like the ones I use to clean my car. They were tattered and full of holes and looked like it was a piece of a curtain. I have pictures. 5. The toilet seats were broken, the flush was not working. 6. The bar tender sold us early bird pricing for a cocktail (passionfruit gin). When we went to the bar to redeem our drink, we got a rum coke. I asked him why he sold us a different drink and he just shrugged. 7. Our bedsheets and pillows had little red stains on them, which looked like bed bug stains. 8. Our pillow was not changed and we literally had the previous guests goo on them. I am tired of typing but there were just too many things wrong at this hostel. (I was one of their first customers when they opened in 2014 or so. I used to love this place. But man, they have gone downhill)

Breakfast was really good in a really good setting. I think they include the first night's breakfast but not all nights. The rooftop is really nice.

unfortunately I was sick the whole time we were here so the loud activities on the roof weren’t very fun. Noise comes through the rooms easily, no private bathrooms.

It was cold at night due to the building being older with no double glazing (understandable). But they didn’t offer any additional blankets at all which I found a bit off. As mentioned, the building is old which is fine, but it seemed to be falling behind with maintenance and there were several roof leaks whilst I was staying. Lockable rawers had power points for charging but this wasn’t convenient if you were on a top bunk.

The food was amazing and the rooftop bar has great views. There were tons of bathrooms, showers and toilets so there was always one available. The staff were overall helpful and friendly and they have lots of activities on to encourage guests to meet and mingle. The free walking tour offered by the hostel and the paid tours that I used were all great, well run and good value for money.

Not an ideal hostel if looking for an early night as could get noisy on an evening. Our room was situated on the main floor where the evening activities occurred. The bedsheets also looked old and used - stain on one side.

option to pay for evening meal and breakfast which were good quality and changed daily. They offered many tours and different activities on the evenings. we enjoyed the walking tour which had added bonuses of fruit and chocolate tasting. staff were friendly and helpful.
