We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

PolandThere was no formal check-in/out process neither F2F reception host, we just received room key by a kind handyman at arrival. Property host/manager never showed up and just wrote to personal phone by whats app application without asking for authorisation to communicate by this channel and didn’t use booking.com official chat. Due a misunderstood and lack of transparency-control of internal procedures there was confusion with the payment. We are frequent booking.com users and we always prepay in advance but during check-out I was requested to sign a form, nothing else, and after departing host stalked again by what’s app texts and calls accusing that we left and didn’t pay when nobody charged us at arrival nor checking-out or at least provide clear instructions how to proceed and finally threaten us by text despite we offer payment solutions according our possibilities explaining that we were going to Swift or direct cash-to-card after reviewing reservation and bank details because we were on the road continuing our trip. Finally, property host threatened us by whats app texting again giving 1 us day for payment or indicated “will start a legal journey with national prosecutors office charging us all fees related to the process with the objective of making us not able to leave the country”. The issue was 2 nights of hotel = $200 that could be addressed and fixed directly on booking.com if she uses their services instead of behaving with such an intimidating manners with customers. For sure everybody can skip this violent experience because Ecuador is a wonderful country but this is an example of how problems are addressed in this property. In Ayampe you will find safe and best equipped-front-beach housing alternatives for better rates and the most important, receiving respect as a customer, not be treated and threatened as criminals because of their internal processes gaps.
No English spoken, too far from the beach, small pool, no fan in the room and noisy AC, hard mattress, weak WIFI, located in a zone surrounded by canteens, people drinking on the streets with loud music and drunk men creating a dangerous environment to walk and very uncomfortable for women
