Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing! Saw a lot of people have complained about the location but it’s only 25 min walk to the pier which we didn’t mind at all
Really lovely hotel - rooms spacious and clean, nice pool with comfy sun loungers, even a little gym! The breakfast was nice and staff kindly let us use the facilities to prepare lunches. They even gave us breakfast early when we had a tour booked! Special thanks to Oscar who was so helpful

CanadaThe hotel is on a bit of a main road so it was a bit loud at night with cars and in the morning but not really a problem.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was clean, bright and the beds were comfortable. My kids enjoyed the pool and we appreciated the complimentary breakfast.

Ireland- Breakfast is tasty but simple and with small portions. - Hairdryer didn’t work and they couldn’t fix it. They didn’t have a portable one to offer me. - Gym equipment very few and very old.
- The staff is out of this world. Always smiley and ready to help with whatever you need. Helped with the bags during check in. They always ordered taxi for us as well. They prepared a sandwich and bananas for us since our boat left before breakfast on check out. - AC in the room, very clean, always very clean towels and linen. - Offer shampoo and shower gel - Free water in each floor. - Nice pool, comfy chairs and clean beach towels. - Coffee available by the pool. - 1,5/2 dollars taxi to get to town, or 30 mins walk.

United StatesAs mentioned, game room was a disappointment. We love to shoot pool or play ping pong, but it is not a deal breaker. The only issue really was distance from town. We made the mistake of walking it, which while doable, was a bad call with luggage and the heat. Totally our fault. But you do need to taxi in for every activity, overall not a big deal because the taxi costs $1.50 USD.
Very good value. Game room is a disaster so don’t put too much stock in it. But the staff is great, the bed was very comfortable, cute little balcony. Filtered water on every level is nice. Breakfast was good. We arrived exhausted and they let us check in early, which was very kind.

United KingdomCould do with more sockets in each room. I suggest a simple remedy would be for the hotel to supply one 4 socket extension cable in each room. Also, there is a lack of places to hang clothes to dry. A particular problem for scuba divers. I suggest a simple remedy would be for the hotel to supply a wire drying rack in each room. This would be cheap for the hotel and would remove the risk of water damage to walls or furniture. I saw a family in an adjoining room use the soft furnishings outside to lay out towels and swim suits. That can't be a good thing for the hotel
It seemed like the hotel was run by a very young man called Oscar. He was there from very early in the morning to late at night. He was outstanding. Couldn't do enough to help. Was always smiling and helpful with excellent English language skills. The hotel itself was clean and tidy, with an excellent cooked breakfast that varied every day. It was simple and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

United KingdomNothing in particular comes to mind except maybe the bathroom was a bit cramped. Just a note, this is not specific to this hotel but just the whole area we stayed on the island. It's not very walkable at night with not many street lamps and the street dogs made us nervous! So maybe get taxis everywhere. It's a fixed price so it's pretty handy.
The staff were very helpful and arranged taxis for us when needed. They also suggested a great restaurant that we ended up loving. The breakfast was also decent.

United StatesI would say the only thing that might be improved is the sound isolation of windows: the hotel is on somewhat busy road, so from 6 am to 10 pm there will be loud noise of vehicle passing by (if your windows come out to the street of course). Closing the bathroom door helped a little but still it was a little loud (fixed with earplugs and the tiredness of the whole day travels). And neighbors can also have a party which will start at 12 am and last till 5 am or so. One last thing, to get to the town you will need to walk for about 25-30 min or take a ride with a taxi for about 10 min ($1.5-$2) - not exactly a minus but we didn't mind walking in general.
The room is very comfortable and a/c gives a nice break from the heat outside. Housekeeping clean every day, towels and bedsheets - on request. Staff - everyone from the kitchen and cleaning to the admins on reception were extremely nice and helpful! Breakfast was good, everyday you will have fresh fruits salad with a different fruit juice, eggs and empanadas/pancakes/toast. Fresh water is always available on every floor - which is extremely convenient and useful! Laundry service is also available (per pound). From the rooftop you can see the whole town and port below.

AustraliaChristopher was supposed to have organized an airport transfer but this did not happen. Not really a big deal as it is fairly easy to get to the hotel from the airport but would have preferred some clarity on this. Just take the public transport and a cab and you'll save some money and get there. Other than that, all was good
Comfortable and a short taxi ride to the main town. You can walk it but we took a taxi for $3 or there abouts. Oscar was super helpful.

AustraliaThe location is about 25 minutes walking from the centre, this is the only downside. However, taxis are readily available and only cost $1.50. The staff are happy to call one for you or you can just wait on the street and hail one. We never waited more than a couple of minutes.
The staff here were amazing. They were so helpful and attentive. The rooms were clean, tastefully decorated and very spacious. The pool and hot tub were great. Breakfast was very good, we enjoyed it every morning. They also had free filtered water which made life a lot easier, rather than having to worry about stocking up on water.

AustriaStaff was really friendly, breakfast was good (tea, coffee, fruits, bread, butter, jam, pancake or patacones or toasted bread), pool is nice. A bit outside the town, walking distance of ~20min, we enjoyed the walks after dinner, but can understand if someone prefers the center :)

EcuadorEven though the hotel was very comfortable, the location of this hotel would mean I wouldn't book it again. When I booked it I was aware it was a mile away from the main parts of town, but I thought it might be a pleasant 15 minute walk - but instead it was a boring walk past houses and along a road, and I was already doing enough walking and activities during the day that I didn't need to add in extra walking. Also, the breakfast could be served earlier for those going on tours or getting the ferries. Surely they know about this. One morning I came down at 7.10am, and a large family had got in just before me and I had to wait a long time, which meant I had to eat very fast to leave for a tour.
The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable, the room was a good size, light and airy, and the bathroom was good. Clean drinking water was also available, and the staff were very helpful. Overall, the hotel was very good and I was very pleased with my stay.

The hotel room was very spacious and beds comfortable. Filtered water on every floor. Oscar and his cousin were helpful, courteous, and friendly! The breakfast was excellent. Pool was good, if you want to use the jacuzzi you have to reserve it. Even thought the hotel is up the hill from downtown area taxi ably $1.50 each way. The hotel has a rooftop area for lounging with a beautiful view of the city and ocean. I would recommend this hotel and will stay here again when visiting Santa Cruz 😎

SwitzerlandIt isn’t centrally located, but it isn’t a big deal at all. Centre can be easily reached by foot or taxi. Reception wasn’t particularly helpful with ferries and getting things organised on the island, but it didn’t matter since there are many agencies in town. It would be nice if they provided guests with breakfast to take away since many will probably miss it one morning if they need to get a flight/ ferry.
Nice building and breakfast, which was different every day (we loved the empanadas). Spacious room, free water available. We used the hot tub which was great, though a bit dirty. Staff was kind and gave us some good recommendations about where to eat in town. Excellent value for your money

United StatesI liked everything!
The room was very clean, modern , comfortable, air conditioning, hot water, and a mini fridge! There were filtered water jugs on every floor. The breakfast was very good and filling - always eggs, juice , fruit and then empanadas one day , pancakes one day, toast, etc. The staff was excellent - ( Over and Beyond) especially Oscar and Angel. Very professional, kind, answer any questions, help with luggage, call taxis (&1.50 to town), arrange tour to Turtle Reserve, etc. We both spoke just enough English and Spanish to understand each other. Google translator was not needed. I loved it ! they arranged taxi from airport to hotel which was similar price as finding taxi $30-$35). Taxi man waiting on airport, holding up paper w my name. The hotel is away from hustle and bustle of town and more relaxing - only $1.50 taxi to town.
