The location. It's ok but not what I would call nice. The surrounding streets are dirty and questionable after 9 pm. Located in what I would call a gritty area.

Well maintained. Very clean. Like staying in an art gallery with all the paintings throughout the hotel.

I found that there was hair in the shower and sink from the previous occupant. a big turnoff. Also the door to the elevator closed very quickly when I was loading my suitcase and carryon . it happened to hit my head and broke the frame of my glasses costing me $86.00 to replace. Also it looks like the room I was in , #410, needs some serious updating.

I messaged them the day prior to arrival and called about three times but was not able to connect with anyone.

The property was clean and the staff was nice. Check in was easy and fast. It was also conveniently located.

Pictures of hotel look better than reality, everythings a bit older than pics suggest. Some of the paintings (and there are a LOT) where really a bit creepy, psycho or with a lot of nude act. I now understand the fuss about it, though I personally didnt really care. Guayaquil is a liberal arts city after all. ;-)

I looked at 4 different rooms to find the quietest one. You can choose between room with window and lots of traffic at daytime (but thats just Guayaquil) or backside with no window but high pitched ventilator sounds (I couldnt nap there). Staff was very patient and friendly with me though and I think the room we had in the end was bigger than the booked one and traffic died down at night. Bed was very good, Staff speaks english, booked a reliable taxi for us in the early morning for airport, which is only like 10-15min away (awesome!). Free coffee and water in room. Very clean and hung full of art everywhere.

Reception staff are so incredibly unwelcoming. Simple requests are met with hostility and defensiveness. Could not leave my credit card on file for room service charges for my mother-in-law who was staying in second room at same time as my wife and I. Reason given "she isn't the cardholder". Stupidity is really the right word, unfortunately.

We used to stay here pre-pandemic all the time. But never again. The only redeeming quality of this hotel is the restaurant staff were very kind. So come for breakfast or lunch, but do not stay in a room!

Reception staff are clueless and default answer is "no" to everything. A simple request to leave my credit card on file for room service charges was met with defensiveness and I was told that's impossible. No toilet paper. Hotel is dated. Called at 7pm to say we were on the road, arriving, and could we order from service before they close. Was told restaurant open until 10. Arrived at 9:30 to reception, told room service was closed, and they didn't place our order from two hours earlier. After back and forth we received a disgusting sandwich. Location is super dangerous outside the hotel at night.

The restaurant staff are friendly. Come here you eat breakfast or lunch, but don't stay in a room.
