Nothing. Everyone was nice, the room was comfortable without being too expensive, and breakfast was always good.

Breakfast was always good and the staff took good care of us. We had to extend our stay a day, which was graciously accomidated. I was traveling with my aunt and one of her friends didn't wait for me to get in the car and I was thrown to the curb, badly brusing my lower back. The hotel Vigilante tried to catch me, and picked me up and helped me get to my room. I didn't go out because of the pain from the fall, but he asked about me every day and the rest of the staff did their best to accomidate my needs. One month later I am about recovered, but the woman who disregarded the Vigilante's help and took off without me certainly ruined a nice time and the rest of my vacation in Ecuador.

When booking online, even though they set the price, they give one the crappiest room in the hotel: Desk light did not work, 1 of 3 bulbs in bath was out, remote barely worked, no safe, when I sat on the corner of a bed it was metal grinding on metal. Need new management-they should inspect room, as in better hotels, before they check in guests. It is obvious they don't want repeat business. I will return only if they guarantee the best room in the hotel for the internet rate [$70 a night, which they choose.] [a random person heard my report to the clerk and heartily agreed!] Retrain the manager or fire him!

There were no issues during my stay.

Location is excellent...very close to light rail station making it easy to get back and forth to the airport. The hotel is VERY quiet at night and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is tasty and they also offer a fixed price lunch that is tasty as well. Overall a great stay in Cuenca!

The bed covers were not the cleanest, there's no phone in the rooms we had to walk to the front desk every time we needed something, the staff wasn't the most informative when it comes to suggestions for places to visit (you are better off asking the taxi drivers).

The breakfast was good, the wifi was good, the availability of the staff was good.

Room was on ground level, with the only window directly on the restaurant. No privacy if you don't close the blind. Also, noisy in the morning. The shower wasn't draining properly and still had some soap and water in the evening after a morning shower. They sent me a post check out message while I was still in bed, the first morning of my 2 nights stay. Didn't feel welcome. Half of the plugs weren't working, mainly those by the bed. Same for the light switch.

In the city centre, next to parque Calderon and a tram line to the bus terminal. The decor in the lobby and restaurant are nice.

The cleanliness of the room is deficient, the doors do not close well and the curtain allows us to see the interior of the room. they changed my room because in the first room there was a very strong smell of gasoline.

Staff were good in general although slow. We were left with a very sour taste in our mouths when we went to pay the bill and they decided to charge us for warm milk which we gave to our two year old each evening when putting her to bed. Come on guys - it’s milk for a baby. Of course we don’t mind paying - it was $1.50 per time but we have NEVER been charged for this in all the places we have stayed across the world. Hopefully a lesson to be learned by management to improve.

We had reserved a Budget Double Room for one night—and we had measured expectations of what “Budget” accommodations would be like—but we were rather shocked at the condition of our room. We were placed in the back corner room of the hotel. The door to enter opens less than a foot away from a broken and sharp bed frame corner that we both cut ourselves on multiple times (while searching for the light switch!). The room felt like it hadn’t been cleaned and had an uncomfortable odor. I’ve never written a negative review before, but it was a really unpleasant stay.

The staff at Gran Hotel were generally friendly and relaxed, and helpfully answered all of our questions.

Not clean, found hair in the towels, and extremely noisy. Lights flickered in an out. A washing machine was run all night, and people were moping, cleaning silverware and washing dishes most of the night. The rooms are located around a courtyard were this activities took place so we could hear them clearly in the room. We had booked it for 3 nights but left after the first.
