I can only say good things about Casa Montero

The hotel was a beautiful colonial style with an open, light feel. I ended up staying 7 nights. The location was close to great food, tourist info centre and gorgeous plazas. The reception was very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was great and the dining area looked out onto The Virgin of Quito. The room had EVERYTHING you needed and the bed was comfortable. In my 7 weeks of travel, I believe this was the most comfortable and grand!

Unfortunately, out room had a smoke detector which flashed two bright red lights every 5 to 10 seconds, continuously. Sleeping on your back was therefore pretty much impossible. After checking some of the other rooms, ours appeared to be the only one with this problem, but we didn't feel like moving, so we tolerated it for the stay.

The hotel is located in an old historic courtyard building, with a very nice interior. The breakfast area is in a very nice add-on location at the rear with an excellent view of the Virgin of El Panecillo on the hill behind. The location is in the heart of the old historic district, next to the Plaza Santo Domingo church.

The location of the hotel was perfect! It overlooked Santa Domingo Plaza and a 5-minute walk from the center of the historic district. The views from the breakfast area were equally amazing and the breakfast itself was excellent. The room was spacious and had an incredible view of the plaza. The wifi was extremely fast and met all my video streaming needs as I was there for work as well as a tourist. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful! I would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Casa Montero is our go to when we stay in the historic district…great location, great value, friendly staff, large comfortable clean rooms and by far one of the best breakfast views with the statue in the distance while you eat a delicious fresh breakfast on their covered balcony! Recommend for sure!

It is a beautiful hotel, immaculately maintained with a very helpful staff. Alexander was a delight. Breakfast was very good and filling, 2 eggs, 3 pieces of toast, coffee, fresh juice and a bowl of fresh fruit. The location was great. Our room had a balcony overlooking Plaza Santa Domingo.

Some rooms don’t have windows to the outside, which makes for very quiet space, but felt a little enclosed to me.

Location is great, under el Pencillo, next to La Ronda, on a lovely plaza, easy walk around historic centre. Huge room with balcony on the plaza, good bathroom, free hot and cold water in reception.

The breakfast was super good with fresh juice, fruits, butter, jam, eggs, only the bread was a normal toast (other places in Ecuador offered fresh rolls) - but this is only a minor, as some people just loves toast, that's a very personal thing therefore I wouldn't see as negative.

The room was very spacious and the staff attended my request for a specific room and I had a fantastic view of the square and historical centre. The receptionist was amazing, super friendly and welcoming, he helped us with all the requests including the taxi to the airport. The plants around the whole place was a treat, it gave us a sense of a paradise amongst busy Quito. Finally, I have stayed in other places in Quito during my trip, and in comparison this one had a good location, particularly in terms of restaurants - amazing places, less than 5 - 7 minutes walking, which makes a difference when you tired from a whole day sightseeing and you just want to just pop in to someplace near to eat.

We had a large room with a beautiful view of Santo Domingo Square from our two small balconies. This gave us a front row seat to observe the Sunday market with live music! The atrium was beautiful and breakfast was good. The staff was helpful and friendly and arranged a driver for our very late night airport pickup (we used Uber on the way back to the airport which was cheaper). Loved the location, which was walking distance to everything. Would definitely recommend this unique boutique hotel!

This has nothing to do with the hotel itself, but by 6:30 PM everything closes up, outside of some restaurants, so there isn’t much to do in this area.

Excellent location in the heart of the historical center. Breakfast was made to order and very good!

You need to choose a room facing the square; otherwise, no direct sunlight in the room.

The hotel is right in front of St. Domingo Square, and it has a beautiful atrium. You can definitely walk to the Plaza de la Independencia for just 5 minutes. The room was huge, and the bed was fine. The breakfast was good; they served it on the beautiful patio with very nice scenery.
