Down the way, around the corner, there is a sister property. We had a slight confusion because our taxi dropped us off at the sister property. Thinking we were in the right place, we signed into that hotel and got assigned a room that clearly wasn't the one I had reserved. (The room was nice, but it wasn't what I expected and so I was disappointed.) As we walked back from dinner, we got turned around. We passed a building that had Casa del Arupo in the front. We even tried our key even though this wasn't where we had checked in. When we finally found the sister property where we had kept our things, I realized that we were not in the right hotel. We walked back to Case Del Arupo, rang the bell. Ximenia was super understanding and helpful. She instantly recognized us for our reservation and she walked us to the other hotel to explain the situation. When all was sorted, we switched hotels and landed in the room we had reserved. NOTE TO TRAVELERS: Google search results seem somewhat fickle. Sometimes it returns HOSTAL Arupo, the sister property that is on E5 block. This Bed and Bath, Case DEL ARUPO is on E7 block. Remembering the E7 was the only way I figured out we were in fact in the wrong hotel. Some of the pictures seem to be from the other hotel which has a garden in the middle/black. Case DEL Arupo has a small garden in the front.

We stayed in the deluxe room, which was fabulous. Breakfast was amazing, great preparation for the days' exploring. The hot shower was great (give it a few minutes to warm up in the cold months). Ximenia, the attendant working when we arrived was incredibly helpful and a great advocate. GREAT location if you want to go out at night.

The room was pretty chilly. A little heater would’ve been nice to take off the edge of cold. There was no hand towel nor bathmat, which would have been really helpful when stepping out onto the cold floor after a shower. Also, if you were a light sleeper, definitely bring earplugs as the music from local bars will keep you up.

I love my little attic room with its pale wood ceiling and crisp white walls. Great hot water and super helpful and friendly staff. The location is right in a fun busy area, with great restaurants, just steps away.

Wow .. such a spacious room .. the bed was massive, as well as being very comfortable. The staff were really friendly. The hotel was located near to some nice restaurants etc however there was some noise from a nearby bar, even on a Monday night. But with ear plugs i could sleep. Overall a great experience

My room had several windows and despite some curtains, a lot of light got in; though this area was decimated by the COVID lockdowns, there’s still 1 bar nearby with loud music that could be heard in my room. Ear plugs helped.

I would have liked a security box; the room was a little dark; other than that, it was great!

The owner was very helpful and sweet. She goes out of her way to accommodate you. I liked the location, at the edge of the Mariscal. The shower is great, with strong pressure and the water is hot. Breakfast is good; they provide bread with a sweet anise -- so good. They'll cook eggs however you want them.

I have never met a more friendly and helpful staff before. Gimena and Carmita were the most lovely and caring women ever. They were gracious and understanding and went out of their way to help.they served a lovely breakfast too😊

A very comfortable and welcoming guesthouse in Mariscal, set on a quiet road near to bars and restaurants. The family who run the hotel were incredibly friendly, making a delicious breakfast of fruit, eggs and juice every morning. You can use the guest kitchen or relax on the terrace or in the cosy lounge. The bedroom was the most comfortable we have had in South America, quiet, dark, comfortable bed and a hot shower.

My room was on the ground floor, with windows overlooking a courtyard and stairs, which made it a little less private than other rooms.

Good location. I was travelling by bus into north Quito and leaving from south Quito the next day and this place is in between the two bus terminals. Lovely staff - friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included. The kitchen has purified water for drinking. I could also boil some water in the evening to make tea.

Convenient location near Plaza Fochs, bus lines, several restaurants, a supermarket, a laundry and a great bakery. The bed was comfortable and the street noise wasn't bad at all. WiFi as pretty good at around 12 Mbps. Neighborhood seemed safe even at night. We liked it so much we stayed an extra night.

When loading the taxi to leave, everyone pitched in to help (great!), but in the chaos, I forgot to turn in my key!! I don’t own a car so it’s taking more time than I’d like to get it returned to them. So sorry!

Excellent hostal. Very friendly people. Best choice for a couple of days or more. The barrio has lots of clubs and bars, so it may be a little bit noisy sometimes. But it is central and you have connections to whatever you need in Quito. Hope I will be able to come back soon.

The price seemed to vary considerably from day to day, not sure why.

Anita, who seemed to be the owner, is always smiling and made us feel very welcome. She was helpful also, and booked our group a custom day trip with someone she knows. The day turned out great, and was very good value. The hotel decor has some interesting and unique features and is in a good location.

Only 1/4 power points worked in the room. Not a social hostel.

Very clean. Reception staff helped us organise laundry, early morning breakfast and let us borrow a phone charger. Their English is limited but we managed ok. Wifi works well.
