No water bottle filling was a big disappointment and hassle.

The no shoes in house rule. The premises were beautiful as was the hotel woodwork. The breakfast and coffee were good and with very flexible timing.

If you are taller than 5.5 ft (1.7 meters) the rooms on the third floor are rough, constantly had to stay low to navigate the room and bathroom was tough.

Only hand soap was provided. Perhaps guests should be informed that they should bring their own soap for the shower. The suicide shower worked fine, but the water never got hot, only warm. Window screens needed to keep ventilation throughout the room. The windows to our room didn't open, so that's a moot point.

The staff was excellent, friendly, and accommodating. The room was large enough for the three of us. It was very clean even though it was rustic, with comfortable beds.

The only downside of the hostería is the lack of isolation between the floors. It can be noisy if the guests in the room are somewhat noisy. If you expect to have problems with that, ask for a room on the top floor.

My second stay in Mindo Greenhouse (first time was 4 years ago). Not much changed. A great place to stay in nice rooms, all - AFAIK- with balcony, most overlooking the beautiful garden (kolibri's all over the place, including the balcony). The owners were very kind and hospitable, the staff (Carmen and Luis) always ready to help out with things and, like the owners, giving a welcoming feeling. The food is good and comes with a reasonable variety and price.

The (wooden) house is a little bit noisy. We could here our upstairs neighbours walking around. Flushing the toilet was difficult and should be fixed. The bathroom door made a crackling sound. However these a mere details.

Beautiful place, nice atmosphere, kind helpful staff. We loved the house, the garden and being immersed in nature. The food is good and the overall experience was great. If returning to Mindo we would love to stay here again.

I’m 5’11” and could not stand upright in half of the bedroom or in the bathroom. this would have been tolerable for a single night, but we booked a three night stay and couldn’t really relax in the bedroom unless lying down. Also, this is a per-friendly property which meant we had a barking dog in the room adjacent to us for the first night.

pretty gardens and close proximity to town. when our hot water stopped working after the first day, staff kindly offered for us to use another shower.

the only thing was that the shower had very little hot water and very little water in general. and it is difficult when the style of the shower head is on the ceiling and pointing away from you. a handheld would be much better.

beautiful garden, very tranquil, I loved the style of the house too. it felt like home. the location was so perfect- around the corner from the edge of town so it was quiet, yet close so we could walk everywhere. breakfast was great!

The only thing that didn’t make the property perfect was the lack of hot water in the shower. Other than that, everything great!

The house is beautiful, clean and located very close to the town. Andrés was super nice and always attentive to our needs and questions. The view from the balcony was insane! We also spent a beautiful evening playing music in the garden social area, it was awesome!

Our room faced the street so it was very noisy with lots of light coming in at night, try to get a room that faces the garden. It says pet-friendly on the website, however, they only allow one pet per room (even though they did make an exception for us due to the misunderstanding).

The walls are paper thin - can hear every word that anyone says in the other rooms. There were no windows that open - the door to the patio opens but at night we didn't want bugs so we closed it. As a result the room was very stuff and hot - even with the fan on. The owner is a bit strange with his rules.

Our room sofa and bed were old and dusty and the bed very small. The room was very small. The breakfast was very basic. At night other guests were making lots of noises, at 5 AM.

The room my young daughter and I had reserved through Booking had been taken by other (loud) guests who were drinking on the balcony and pretended not to hear us knocking to inform there had been a mistake. We were offered a smaller darker room. A massive disservice to this app: photos deceiveing, staff rude and unresponsive. I was not surprised to see many vacant rooms. We left.

While we enjoyed stay, and the place is so beautiful we sadly wouldn’t stay there again because of the following. The showers are terrible, it was hard to have them stay warm and they never got hot. So after hiking all day in the rain it’s not enjoyable to get a almost warm shower. You also don’t get access drinking water or at least it’s limited, so you have to buy your own.

The house itself is very beautiful and in a great location, it’s only 3 minutes walk to town but also you feel like you are in nature. The garden is beautiful and you have a hummingbirds flying around your balcony. The staff are very kind and helpful. The internet was good.

Loved our stay! the house looks exactly like photos if not better. I looked at cheaper and more expensive and this was better than both. perfect location because it’s not right in town but just about two blocks away. service was great and responded very quickly. I’ll be back in mindo for sure one day and will definitely stay here again!
