The bathrooms weren’t the best

There were 2 WiFi accounts, and the one supplied didn't work in the bedrooms. Despite asking 3 times, the second WiFi password wasn't supplied. So you could only access WiFi in the common area. The hostel was fumigated, which is good, except we were only given 3 hours' notice to vacate the property for 3 hours. I don't think this was enough time as you could still smell the fumigation products. Hate to think what I inhaled.

The place was super clean. The staff is always cleaning. The location is excellent too and in a quieter part of the city. There is a kitchen which can be used to cook and store your food. Loved the movie room. Great place to chill and unwind after a big day. The hostel is higher up giving you a good view of the city. There is also a rooftop chill area. Although standard practice for most hostels in Ecuador (fire hazard). The entrance is locked, but it is easy to exit without needing staff to unlock it. This was more comforting as you can exit in case of emergency..... unless there is no power.

Papachos is a great hostel I would (and have) recommend to anyone. There is a lovely friendly but relaxed vibe. All the staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is very well equipped. Everything is always very clean, and the beds are comfy. What more could you want!

Great volunteers - Kyle and Javi especially- we’re super helpful and friendly. This was particularly appreciated given there weren’t loads of guests! Comfy beds, clean everywhere.

10/10 the stuff was really nice and chilled. I wasn't feeling well and they took really care about me. They also told me a lot of good spots to go. 🥰 everything is clean and I definitely can recommend this lovely place 👍

The dorm door didn’t shut properly which was more a slight issue with temperature control on a cool night, although the hostel has a locked gate manned by reception. Very limited number of toilets/ showers to 1 for each floor shared by several dorms. inevitably it’s harder to keep such places clean.

Decent place to meet other travellers and socialise. Good sized lockers in bedrooms is always a plus. Reasonable facilities for cooking. Not too far from the main central hub with amenities and tour operators. Staff were friendly and helpful and we socialised on a night out while I was there.

A very nice place to meet other travelers. The Lady at check in was very kind and friendly. She tried her best to help me in her broke English and she listened to my broken spanish. Would definitely stay again

Fantastic staff, roomy beds with drapes and really good comunal areas. Bathroom on third floor has a fantastic view of the city in the shower

Very clean and well maintained hostel, nice atmosphere, many common spaces and many travelers to meet. There is a curtain for the bed in the dormitory and locker. It also has a good location, in the city centre.

The hostel was mostly run by the volunteers who did awesome but the owner was almost not available. The kitchen was not ultra clean but alright.

Nice, calm hostel with nice common areas. Good atmosphere. Curtains on the bunkbeds.

The rooms are small and there are only two showers for the whole floor so it's impossible to keep them clean. The personal didn't know much about the surrounding and wasn't really able to recommend me trips and places to go.

Ok, for a short stay, but don't expect much. It is very basic. The terrace was really nice with a good view.

There were quite some internal problems of the volunteers and team, who were constantly fighting and also leaving. The beds had flees! It was known but noone really cared. The first room of 6 beds was extremely tiny. After 10 pm it was not allowed to be on the terrace talking, which was definitely the hang out place.

The hostel had a great terrace for chilling and hanging out. The beds were quite comfortable and the place was clean. There was a cozy cinema room.
