How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We spent one night here in mid-March, chosen for its proximity to the airport, as we would be leaving early the next morning to fly to Coca, and because of the favorable reviews. It was everything we expected and more. Pat, the host, picked us up and dropped us back off at the airport for a very reasonable fee, and was very friendly and full of helpful advice. Since we didn’t have a car, he directed us to a nearby café for lunch, which was a bit of a walk but good exercise and an opportunity to see the neighborhood. We had Pat’s wife’s pizza recommended by so many other reviewers for dinner, and it was as good as everyone said, especially with a nice cold local beer. Pat gave us very helpful information for our return visit to Quito, a week later, when we would be staying in the Old Town, especially regarding the peculiarities of using Uber. Comfortable room, very good wifi, and a very nice dog, all for an extremely reasonable price. Highly recommended if you need an overnight stay near the airport.

The lodge provides an excellent low cost option for an overnight layover. I was promptly picked up at the airport and provided a nice clean room. The wifi is good, comfortable bed, quiet room, clean and the couple who live at the lodge are very friendly and hospital. I would stay longer if there was a need.

The property was so clean and homey and the hosts where so warm and welcoming,i wish i could’ve stayed longer. They picked me up from the airport and the breakfast was really good!

- We cannot mention anything negative about this place. Pat and his wise were amazing hosts. We would go back anytime.
- Our host, Pat, was super helpful. He gave us a tremendous amount of advice on how to use our time in Quito and the Galapagos, including safety tips - The homestay is very clean and comfortable, with fast WiFi and hot water in the shower (also towels) - Pat has arranged transportation for us from /to the airport for a very reasonable price - We got a nice breakfast with lots of coffee (cannot say enough ‘thank you’ for this), plus we could also use the kitchen /utensils for our dinner

The duvet cover smelt a bit and could have done with a wash, would be better if it got washed every time along with the bottom sheet.
Perfect distance from the airport if you need a quick stopover and Pat even came to pick us up for only $7 (cheaper than an Uber). Breakfast was lovely and Pat provided some good recommendations for Ecuador.

Pat and his wife are the most wonderful hosts. Hard to imagine feeling instantly welcome and at home in a place you have never been before, but that is exactly what they did.

The service was great. Really good communication and fast pickup and drop off at the airport. The room was very clean and the area silent. Great place to stay if you have a night between flights.

Really great experience. We stayed twice during our trip to Ecuador between flights to/from the Galapagos and the Amazon. It was really easy to arrange to be picked up and dropped off by the owner and we kept in touch about any delays etc via WhatsApp. He was very reliable and also gave us lots of useful advice. Great breakfast in the morning and also we had their pizzas, which were massive! Lovely friendly place.

Pat, he"s always ready to help and answer to any questions before you get there.... and after : ) 5 minutes by car from the airport, if you are tired you can have a pizza there so no need to get around looking for food after a long flight... And the dog.. : )

Very kind owner, he prepared us takeaway breakfast, since our flight was early in the morning. You can order also different pizzas for lunch or dinner. The owner can take you or pick you up at the airport, in case you need transportation.

Host is SO nice and hospitable - lovely to chat with and very accommodating. Good wifi and comfy beds. Very reasonable and fast (2 hrs) washing service. They provided a lovely included breakfast to go as we had an early flight which was really appreciated. Excellent place to stay for before or after the airport. $7 trip to the airport even super early! Thank you so much!

Pat was a very kind host. He picked us up and dropped us off to the airport during our 1 night stay. He was a very interesting and amicable person. The lodge is close to the airport. It was nice that we could order food on site without having to go anywhere, although Pat offered to take us into town if we wanted. We had a nice stay.

The host was amazing- super helpful. The pick up and drop off at the airport went smoothly and was right in time. The homemade pizza available for dinner was delicious. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of hot water for showers. The breakfast that was provided was also delicious.

I can't even think of anything i didn't like. It was a great fit for our needs.
The host, Pat,was very kind. We arrived late at night and he made us a pizza (for purchase). He gave my daughter a ride to the airport even though she wasn't staying there (the other 4 of us were). His wife made a delicious breakfast in the early morning. He communicated well from start to finish, was very responsive and helpful. The location was great for an overnight before a flight, 12 min from the airport, and only $7 for a ride there. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was hot! (And the dog was friendly). All for a very reasonable cost.
