Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location has pros and cons. Keep in mind you will have to pay $5 each way for a taxi each time you go to Puerto Ayora. There are no restaurants nearby and it is too far to walk, so you will likely need to take taxis daily. Some things listed in the description were not available. For example, I hoped to rent a bike, which was listed as an option on the page but wasn't available when I asked.
The location was quiet and peaceful compared to Puerto Ayora. Breakfast was included and staff was able to adjust time of breakfast to meet my needs. They were helpful in calling taxis to town.

The best part of the Piedras Blancas Lodge is the staff! They were extremely helpful, friendly and kind. They assisted us in getting rides to the port area for our excursions as well as to and from the airport. The hotel staff even helped us get to the Island of Isabela when it turned out all of the ferries were full for the next 2 days. Two of the staff reached out to their friends and colleagues to try and assist us. Ultimately, they got us a great deal on a flight to Isabela in a small 6 seater plane which turned out to be a fantastic experience. We were able to see all the islands and Pacific ocean from the sky and avoid any sea sickness from the rough ocean. On top of that, they stored our extra luggage for us for 3 days and even dropped it off at the port for us on our day of departure from the Island for no charge at all. You really feel like they want you to enjoy your experience on the island. The breakfasts were delicious and the hotel setting is very relaxing and quiet. I would happily stay here again!

EcuadorThere were no tortoises on the grounds and the language difference was challenging.
Everyone was so attentive, the place was very clean, and the grounds were fantastic! We were happy to be alone but it was a bit sad that we were the only guests at the time.

United StatesThe property was a bit of a drive from the town and the ports, so be sure you have everything you need before you arrive. Make sure you have cash to pay for the stay. The property does not accept credit cards.
The women who ran the property were very friendly and helpful. They helped us get to and from the ferry port and even helped us find dinner the first night we stayed. The property was beautiful with tortoises hanging around the property. Breakfast was delicious and wonderful. Just make sure you have cash to pay for the room, they do not accept credit cards.

United StatesWe were on the Island during elections and being down town was very noisy. So, we especially appreciated being at the Lodge which was quiet and peaceful. It is quite a lovely environment and the $5 cab ride downtown was worth it. The staff was excellent. Very attentive, friendly and kind hearted. Of course, we have found Ecuador to be like this virtually everywhere we go.

United StatesThis is not a complaint since I enjoyed the location and the quiet but travelers should now that the property is located a $5 cab ride from Puerto Ayora. The staff can quickly arrange transportation when needed and more than once they gave us a ride free of charge.

United StatesPiedras Blancas Lodge staff were incredibly helpful and caring. The cabins are cute with lots of room and surrounded by nature. The room was clean and the bed was HUGE. The staff not only helped me at the hotel but also helped me out while I was away from the hotel.

NetherlandsThe breakfast is poor with only 1 breadroll, butter and jam, one slice of ham and cheese and an egg. One day they ran out of coffee and next day of jam, but both were not supplemented. Ik looks like the whole place is run by young kids, they welcome you, make the breakfast and clean the rooms. They are very friendly but to mee it seems they are not supervised and 1 afternoon they were all gone and we were all alone in the bungalowpark! Due to havy rains there were a lot of caterpillars and my room 20 was infested with them. Luckily i got another room and there were only 2 the last night.
The location 8 km from town is very quiet and situated in a beautiful garden Bungalows are big and ac works good.
