We visited during mid November, a couple of weeks before high season, and were a bit disappointed to find that the normal boat trips and other activities weren't possible during our stay. We also got eaten alive by sand fleas one evening, when we were sitting on the beach watching sunset. We were prepared for mosquitos, but not for these nasty insects!

Arriving at the property involves driving onto the beach (or getting a taxi), which was both daunting and surreal at first, but quickly became one of my favourite things about it. We had an SUV (not 4x4) and had no problems - the sand is really hard and easy to drive on. The owner was extremely communicative and helpful over WhatsApp, and made us feel very welcome during our stay. He's an excellent chef, and we ate at the hotel every day to make the most of his incredible cooking. The property itself is on it's own stretch of a fairly deserted beach (which becomes inaccessible during high tide) and both the views and isolation are beautiful. We went for walks and swam during the day and drifted off to peaceful sound of the waves and wind at night.

Distance from Mompiche, about 35 minutes walking. Rather steep price, especially when it turns out that quoted prices go for paying in cash, paying with credit card means an extra 10% on the bill. A bummer since the only ATM in Mompiche works only with Ecuadorian cards.

Location, close to the beach, very hospitable and helpful staff. Real good meals, nice rooms with spacious terrace. Great view from every terrace.

What a gem in Mompiche! Beautiful location, very friendly staff. My husband and I are vegan and the chef/owner was very accommodating to our dietary requirements at short notice - very lucky for us to find such delicious vegan food in Ecuador!

Nothing at all.

Clean cozy spacious room with gorgeous ocean view and big balcony. Big beautiful garden leads to private beach. Laying on those hammocks is so relaxing and peaceful. Not far from town center, you can walk there for more food options, or you can stay at this lodge for meals.The owner cooks the most delicious seafoods I've ever had in Ecuador. You can only drive in and out at low tide periods, twice a day. That's interesting experience.

The cold water in the shower. Yeah we know the weather is warm all year round but still having cold water is painful for the body. When we were staying at the hotel there was a cut of water which was promptly solved but then the water came brown until the end of our stay. The breakfast is poor in terms of quantities, they could improve this part.

The location of the hotel & the surroundings. Right on the beach with nice spots to rest. It's great to rest & relax and enjoy the environment at this place. The sea water is very warm ! The food is good.

Be sure to have repellent as there are a lot of mosquitoes (and sandflies on the beach).

Beautiful place, the tranquility and superb views onto the beach front and the ocean were great! The staff was very helpful and the food they cooked was just delicious - highly recommended that you eat here at least one night of your stay :) Clean and spacious rooms and cozy balconies for chilling.

The rooms were big and clean. The food was good and you can ask for vegan options. You can enjoy a nice walk to the town or take a mototaxi to get there. Make sure you check the tide table at the hotel so you can plan ahead. We really enjoyed our stay!

The pet friendly policy, the owner dogs were allowed to walk freely but guest dogs had to be on a leash always . The food options were very limited, there was no menu The never cleaned the room nor took the trash out nor made the beds during the whole stay

Though the place is safe, still it would have been better if the bedrooms could be locked. If you are coming to disconnect, then you won't mind that there is only wifi in the lobby. The bathroom should be cleaner and hardly any water coming from the sink. We had to call the property 1 day before arrival as nobody replied to our chat via Booking.com. Luckily, we did this else we would not have known that access to location was only during low tide.

Its remote location and great food cooked by Rafa were the highlights of our stay. If you do not mind secludeness - contact property re tide table if you are coming by car - and showering with cold water, then this is the place for reflection and recharging your batteries.
