Staff was very kind and generous. We arrived very early morning and they were kind enough to let us rest in an avaliable room. Close to la Carolina park. Great view from the dining room. Would definitely stay again.

It took a little while for the shower water to heat up - this seemed like we were using a lot of water as had to run it for several minutes each time to get warm water. Once it came through it was constant.

The hotel was really beautiful and very well located. It was the epitome of calm and was so full or character and charm with all of the antique pieces and artisan crafts. We loved the roof terrace with the hammock and fantastic views of the mountains and city beyond. The breakfast was a delight and coffee and tea free lowing. Very kind and attentive staff.

The hot water in the shower was not the best, but we understand that this is the normal in the area.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, even to special requests that were fulfilled. Breakfast is great, the view from the dining room is magnificent! Location is also very good, despite the very deep hills, but it's the normal of the area, and doable with a car. You're super close to Fundacion Guayasamin and other attractions that are not historic downtown.

Quite loud, you can hear everyone in the hotel from your room. You have to be buzzed in and out of the building which is a bit inconvenient when there’s no staff around, sometimes we were waiting outside for over 10 mins waiting for someone to let us in. Building is on a high hill (great views) but difficult walk to and from the hotel so be aware

Hot watter wasn't working properly, the first day had to shower with cold/ice watter and the other days was just a little warmer. Also there were this tiny beetles on the floor, more than 2 per night.

As the hotel is getting older, it could use some upgrading for example the blinds...the bathroom should have extra shelves to put ur toiletries. And most importantly the shower hit water is not very good did not get hot to take a shower as it is winter time when we're there.

The cleanliness of the room. Stuff are helpful and make sure my extra request to have late night hot water for tea is delivered in my room. Walter the stuff is at ur service 24/7....

The breakfast was one of two things that need improvement. It is adequate. I was not asked how I wanted my eggs. These were served scrambled and dry. After three days I asked if I could have them soft boiled. I was told I would get them hard boiled. Oh well. One step in the right direction. I know that Quito has good bakeries. After the first day I requested to not be given the bread as it would have been wasted. I loved the fresh fruit, natural fruit juice and coffee in the morning. I would have appreciated the offer of a second cup of coffee and maybe additional breakfast choices, such as oatmeal or granola

Mostly I liked the staff who was very professional and accommodating - I arrived at 2AM and they were very nice about it. The location was perfect for me. It is in a safe neighborhood, close to a great museum and a short walk to shops and transportation. I had great views from both my both my bedrooms ( I stayed there twice). Plenty of hot water at every hour of the day or night. They cleaned my room daily and gave fresh towels. I really like the wooden floors, seems much more hygienic than the average hotel carpet. The room was very sound proof so my sleep was not interrupted.

We felt it should have been half of the price we paid. We chose the place because of the the good reviews. The room and hotel is simple and worn out. Pictures are accurate 10 years behind situation. View is not that great. The rooms are on the street level. Wifi is slow (6Mbps), the rooms facing the street had all night street lights on and because the curtains are very thin the room was light all night, plus street noise. No hot water just slightly warm. The receptionist wasn't warming.

The king size bed had a small double bed sheet with a thick king blanket that slıpped off the bed all night. There should be handrails for the stairs - very dangerous. We had no hot water the first day and could not take a shower. Our sleep was interrupted when a loud group of men entered the hotel and would not quiet down when we asked. The breakfast was horrible: cold, overcooked scrambled eggs, stale store-bought roll, sour bottled fruit juice - we waited 20 minutes for this and didn't eat it.

Close to Guayasamin Museo, but too steep to walk.
