Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaI would like an option to open/close the curtains without climbing the bed with town clothes. Otherwise, no complaints.
I enjoyed the beds, usually I find beds too soft, but in Hektor the beds were nice and firm. Also the bedding was really nice. The overall design at Hektor is also pretty cool.

FinlandAlthough the room was small, there could have been another chair.
Konttihotelli was a hotel with stylish minimalist furnishings and a good location. There was a grocery store opposite the hotel where you could get breakfast. You could also get it from the hotel for an additional €12. There were parking spaces in front of the hotel for an additional €5. Telliskivi, where the hotel is located, is an interesting area with a lot to see, such as a photography museum.

Excellent facilities, compact but not missing anything. Great to experience an eco aware business doing everything they can for sustainability. Great location just outside of the old town. Innovative use of an old building with a new accommodation concept. Very relaxed atmosphere and all you need for a comprehensive breakfast to start your day.

South AfricaThere really wasn't anything I didn't like - I would very happily stay there again.
The premises are well designed, appealing, quirky, well laid out, and clean. The check-in process is very easy and fast. The rooms are surprisingly well appointed, and the bed was seriously one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The coffee made at reception is great, and the people are friendly. It's also within walking distance of just about everything, and surrounded by a selection of restaurants and interesting spots. All in all, a great stay.

United KingdomGiven you are sleeping inside a building inside a container, albeit with windows, I found the virtual absence of natural light a bit disturbing after a few days
Really pleased to see a hotel that references green issues, our planet needs more of this. Making use of an abandoned building and re-purposing it as an hotel by filling it with containers is a great idea. But I can't help thinking that with a little bit more effort they could do a lot more. Televisions in the rooms were permanently on "standby", with no obvious / easy way to turn them off. This is a common way energy is wasted. I'm also not sure how the plastic trees in communal areas fit in with the green agenda. Having said that, the staff are great, breakfast fantastic and the hotel is in a good location, near the old town and on tram line to all transport hubs

EstoniaThe ventilation wasn't the greatest for someone who likes extra fresh air and usually opens a window if possible. That said, it wasn't bad, just not great.
Its quite a unique place with an interesting vibe. Doesn't feel like staying in an hotel, in a good way :)

EstoniaLoved this a bit unusual type of hotel. Very comfortable check in and stay. Rooms are stylish and modern. Location for me was perfect as it is opposite the craft beer store, supermarket and a biggest market in Tallinn center. Tram stop is also very close and can take you to main bus station. Train station also only a few minute walk

United KingdomRooms overlooked unless the blinds were drawn - very much a sleeping pad only. However, there were seats, books and games in the foyer. A bit out of the way / but good cafes and restaurants nearby.
Architecturally interesting, and much better in reality than a container hotel sounded. Good breakfast.

FinlandNothing negative to mention about the entire accommodation
Very friendly service. Shop and pharmacy opposite. Restaurants within walking distance. You could get the car in front of the hotel for an additional fee of €5. A wonderful healthy breakfast. You could get in with the code and you didn't have to carry the keys with you.

I was attending Tallinn Music Week, so booked Hektor mainly based on location. An absolutely perfect stay, the Telleskivi area is full of great places to eat and drink, right next to the transport links. Very safe even when returning late at night. Hotel is well designed and very comfortable, they seem to have thought of everything. Communal areas are high quality and breakfast is excellent. Staff very helpful. Value was amazing. Will definitely return to Tallinn once again, and will prioritise booking at Hektor.

GermanyTo be honest - nothing to hold the hotel accountable for. It was snowing in April ;-)
The concept of the hotel is completely different to 'standard' hotels. You live in a small but very comfy container. Access is keyless vby your code. Situated in the middle of a vibrant surrounding here you can meet cook people, get great food - and go shopping. The distances are walking distance. Close to the old town - when you are interested in culture. When you come by car - there are 3 spots right in front f the hotel. If they are occupied - there are many very affordable parking options nearby / also in front of the hotel. Parking fee via parking app is just 5€ per day. The hotels communal space offers a well equipped kitchen, yoga room, working spaces and very fast internet. VPNs are not rejected.

GermanyThere is a sign in the shower that one might run out of hot water. The amount wasn’t enough for two people to shower.
Interesting and unsusal concept of the hotel, really nice atmosphere. Self-check-in give one flexibility, there is a room for suitcases to leave them if you arrive before the check-in starts. The room was modern, had a big, comfortable bed and a nice modern shower. We felt comfortable and safe!
