Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeing a very old building it is a little creaky as far as noise is concerned and the plumbing is also quite noisy. However this didn’t spoil the stay. Although in the ‘Leading Hotels of the World’ branding, this hotel doesn’t have the same facilities or room quality of its peers, but I think the very good price/value reflects that.
Highly convenient location in the old town, yet quiet street. Rooms have character and service is excellent. The bed and linen are super comfortable. The breakfast has plenty of choice. The board showing the famous people who have stayed here from pop stars to diplomats and royalty is very interesting.

FranceI do not understand why the sauna is not on free access rather than every client having to book it for a private session which makes the access very limited. As a result I didn't manage to get a slot during my stay. Room was big and spacious but rather dark. Limited windows.
Friendly and professional staff. Excellent breakfast. The location. The check in process which made me feel very welcome despite a very late arrival.

FinlandDreamy stay: lovely room, wonderfull stress-free breakfast, beautiful historical building(s), perfect location, friendly and calm atmosphere. Hotel is also very kid-friendly without loosing its luxurious atmosphere. They took kids so well into account: kid-size bathrobes/slippers, kid friendly shampoo etc kit waiting, teddy bears, surprices etc...

United KingdomWe could not fault a thing about this hotel. The location was perfect in the old town. Every member of staff we encountered were a credit to the establishment and so very helpful. Our room was very comfortable with lovely bedding, combined with the quietness of the place, this provided great sleep. The breakfasts were superb. Fresh with one of the most impressive choices we have encountered. Evening meal was very tasty with a good choice of quality wines, port and dessert wine. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again whilst in Tallinn.

AustraliaWe found exiting the main hotel to 'go around the corner' to our room wasn't ideal (especially in pretty bad weather). We had booked a 'deluxe garden room' but the room we got was around the 'service side' of the building which meant noises outside early some days (we were there 4 nights). The room was not at all like the photos on the site and we were rather disappointed. In particular the photos show sofa seating for two to be able to relax in in the room (important if you're there for a few days) but this wasn't there and the room seemed much smaller than the photos. However the bathroom was very large (it was an accessible room). I imagine with a room as advertised the hotel would be excellent, but unfortunately we didn't get that.
The Schlossle is a very charming hotel very well located in the lovely old town of Tallinn. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and professional and the entrance foyer and lounge areas are quiet and comfortable. The rooms are generally very quiet as well. The breakfasts are excellent, the beds comfortable and the bathroom was large.

United KingdomEverything was perfect.
We liked absolutley everything about our stay at Schossle. The staff were all really friendly and went out of their way to help you. The waitress at breakfast remembered everything we had and without asking provided us with our favourites. The wife and I could not fault a thing. We would stay here again in a heart-beat! They even provided us with a lovely hand made Christmas stocking on Christmas day, filled with local goodies. A really nice touch. This is the best place you could go if you want a perfect Christmas! One of the best hotels we have stayed at. We will be visiting again and very highly reccommend to all our friends and family and to anyone who reads this. If you are pondering on a visit to this hotel, stop and just bite the bullet, you will not regret it. Perfection!
